That's absolutely nuts... I could never justify paying that on insurance, I thought £700 for my WRX was bad!
Still, if the car brings you lots of fun etc then good on you.:D
Thing is, anyone who knows about cars is going to be able to tell a four pot from a a V6 regardless of looks.
It's a bit like those Cosworth lookalikes that trundle around town.....when they open the throttle there's no turbo spool up...just the fart of a Ford Pinto engine!

Thanks for the explanation Gordon.....I had a look at the valve last night and traced the vacumn pipe back to the inlet so gathered it must have something to do with opening/closing at different engine speeds.
I have decided to leave it in-situ now for the reasons you state....it's obviouisly...
Just do the usual, decent air filter, good exhaust with sports cat and ecu re-map.
Then do brakes suspension.
Slippery slope this modifying business and after each upgrade you'll always find yourself wanting more till it gets to the point when you realise it was probably best to buy a new...
Not sure about this one
My opinion is if it aint broke don't fix it (or f**k about with it)
I'm running the OE box and feeds with Green Panel filter...car is plenty punchy/torquey so I'm happy.
I had to file out the holes on the rear exhaust mount so I could move it away from the exhaust hanger slightly....knocked against it to start off with.
I was taliking about the vacumn pipe that goes to the inlet manifold.....I think if your going to remove the valve it'll be a good idea to plug this up.
The guys at evo testing it even thought that they couldn't make the Trophy any better than it is!
I do think that the emphasis was on handling and fun.....TBH I drive a 172 and find the power more than enough as it's such a small, agile car.:)
Enjoy the WRX
I have come from a WRX....great car but very bland in the steering department compared to the Clio.
Watch out for understeer too in the WRX .....make sure you get the droplinks done and anti-lift kit fitted:D
I have had a closer look at this valve and there is a vacumn pipe going to the inlet from this valve.
I assume the valve must use pressure in the inlet to open/close it at different engine speeds?
The airbox has two inlets so maybe it closes one off at higher engine speeds so it uses just...
I suppose it depends which exhaust your buying.
They do source out a lot of their work to other brands and IIRC some are made by Tiger (s**t) and others such as the Stealth are made by Janspeed (good).
I have a Stealth system and am very happy with the quality and fit but it is almost a copy...
This thread makes me laugh......If we all wanted to go quicker than any car on the roads we'd all be riding Jap sports bikes.
Good luck on the strip J3ned....I hope the car delivers what your expecting from it.
