Thanks for the info mate....it does sound like a bit of a b**ch.
I changed the downpipe on my old Subaru to a decatted one and that was an absolute s**g of a job....access to the nuts around the turbo was so limited which required some interesting rachet setups!
I have access to some ramps...
Stick with a good panel filter in the OE airbox...ind kits may sound good but will probably loose you torque and for the money there are better mods to be done.
I recently fitted a green panel inmy airbox and it seems to have freed up the throttle slightly and it doesn't make loads of noise...
I'm going to put a sports cat on mine next month....how come it's such a pain to fit....it only looks like four bolts and the two O2 sensors which need to come off and be re-installed.
Are the two bolts neat the manifold a pain in the ass to get to?
Not my cup of tea but if your going to go for a kitted car Dimma ones are very, very good.
I had a 205GTI with a Dimma kit on years ago and the fit/quality was second to none
Have to agree Lee...My old WRX was ballistic speed wise but I rarely got a chance to use all the power and push the car to the limit as I'm just not that good a driver.
I think other companies are going to have to come up with something very special to rival the Clio Trophy.....making a good...
Have to agree with you but I understand there were a few people getting in the mix for their own entertainment.
Forums are a funny thing...I've been on plenty and car ones seem to be particuarlaly overrun with egotistical people with complexs (hence having to quote power figures etc to be...
I've been looking for a manual for a 172 with no success either.
I think Renault want us to take the cars into their dealerships for even the slightest bit of work.
I would do some research into how much it's going to cost to get sorted and MOTd.
I can understand whay you want a second car for mountainbiking....I ride MTBs & BMXs and you can really f**k up seats and trim with a set of pedals with sharp pins fitted!
Prefer the look of the MK2 cars myself.
I definately wouldn't say the Mk2 172 is 'floaty' at all.....in fact I think it's probably got the best steering of any car I've owned/driven.
Glad to hear they at least got one of the cars back.
The scooby will probably be in bits by now.....market for parts (especially aftermarket stuff) is thriving.
I agree to a certain extent but as Lee says...every car is slightly different.
TBH I looked at it and solved the problem straight away....it was a very easy fix. I once brought a strut brace for my old car and realised it wouldn't sit properly on the turrets.....out came the trusty hacksaw and...
I did
The last thing I want to see when I open my bonnet is some roachy cone filter sitting there covered in filth and making lots of noise while making the car less drivable.
Enclosed kits may be good but are just way too expensive
