where does this cheap chip fit, if its one im thinking of dont your need and airflow meter for you to fit it? has the clio doesnt have air flow meters. plus if it did it would more than likely melt your spark plugs and f**k your engine up.
faulty immobiliser. does the immobiliser light stop/flash (cant remember which is does) my 172 had starting problems which was an immobiliser issue, turned out it was the key, used my spare and it was ok, either thet or the key code reader round the barrel.
or TDC sensor fault, or dirty...
but you may get earlier models with the longer ratios due to alot of customers complaining of the high revving on motorways etc and renault replaved them with the revised box which came out late 2007, or peoples gearboxs that went bang were replaced with the later box. you should be able to tell...
mines done this since i brought the car, i think its due to the very cold weather, spoke to ben about this and he had both his stat and coolant sensor changed and was still the same. kevos stat went i his if i remember rightly and was lucky to even get the gauge over 1/4 and was basically...
i would say take it to one of the specialists and get a full service/ engine flush/diagnostics etc, runing that long on spark plugs alone cant be good for the car let alone the oil. i would say thats what causing the low mpg, and i bet it will be suffering from low performance aswell.
I done exhaust/sports cat, panel filter, matched inlets, silicon hoses improved cold air feed like ducting to second inlet/ removing the box behind the grill and mapped it gained about 8 bhp at a cost of about £ 1500, was it worth it, to me yes, just drive nicer
flat surface so no worries about removing, just aply abit of heat with a hair drier and use a plastic credit card type of thing to ease the letters off, just be careful about scratchimh the paint. them polish up after
in my opinion, its alot better car than my 172, not as raw, but not slow either, its alot more smoother power delivery. i find it quite enjoyable to drive. get a 200 (cup) if you can as it is a better car out the box.
15/16bhp gain throughout the rev range not peak, so between 850rpm and 7000rpm hes gain 15bhp over what it was, 10bhp probably at 4500rpm and 5-6bhp at peak which will be at about 6800rpm. not exactly hard to understand
does it say in the advert 12-15bhp peak power gains? No. (but then again it doesnt say throughtout the rev range either) but correct me if im wrong Ktec normally quote gains throughout the rev range, so 5-6bhp peak + 10bhp lower down the rev range is 15/16bhp gain.
