182 OEM Tyre Size & RB 182 on Turbines

I prefer the look of the 195 however prefer the contact to the road on the 205.

    RB 182 - Fosse Way

I usually am half asleep! Lowered on Sportlines with a Yozza, I couldn't handle coilovers (I must be getting old). I think I've seen your car parked up in Leamington before, looks nice. I'll attempt a wave if I see you again :)

    RB 182 - Fosse Way

Seen you twice now on the morning commute on the Fosse Way approaching Hunningham, lowered on white alloys (Turinis?) and a very loud exhaust!!

    Winter storage for my 172

I'd check all fluids and top up or replace if needed, stick some axle stands under it and buy a cover. If you plan to leave the wheels on you could over inflate them to reduce flat spots.

Sorry...but a little help with tyre choice please.

It all depends on your budget, if your wanting to keep the cost down go for some T1R's or Hankook V12's. I've got V12's on my 182 wheels and found them a great all round tyre. I currently have T1R's on my Turinis and found them to be a little soft to start with but they've bedded in a bit...

    Winter Tyres - Are you?

I do a 10 mile commute on B roads and last year I found the Clio pretty poor in wintery conditions. I'm tempted to stick some winter rubber on my spare 182 wheels, is there actually much benefit?

For anyone that's ordered from Fancy Plates...

I found communication with them was poor, I also never got my CS discount after asking a couple of times.

people with xenon headlamps on their 172/182s, what bulbs do you use?

From memory standard fit is around 4500k and let off a small amount of blue light. I'm not a fan of the 6000K+ bulbs as they take away the oem look.

    drying off

Is this the AG one people use? http://www.camskill.co.uk/m37b77s3515p69005/_Autoglym_-_Hi_Tech_Microfibre_Drying_Towel_Single_Pack/RS_GB also is it the best value for money or can you get better for under £10?

OEM spec brakes on track. Anyone done it without issues?

You should be fine, I did 1 1/2 laps of the ring before my motor factors discs and pads died. Oh and my fluids not been changed for years!

    Budget Tyres

I try and stear clear of random branded tyres from past experience they're all crap! I buy the best I can afford which is usually a mid range tyre like Hankook V12, Toyo Proxy or Conti's. My other halfs 1.2 Clio runs on Maxxis tyres, they do the job and are ok in the wet but it's not like the...

Braided Brake Lines - Worth the Money?

The pedal feels very spongy at the moment and the brakes are poor. I think the previous owner replaced them with non oem parts and the fade is terrible! I'll be getting them fitted at BTM so I presume they'll use decent fluid, does ATE Blue just have a higher boiling point than normal fluid?

Braided Brake Lines - Worth the Money?

I'm looking to change my discs and pads next month and I've got some Brembo HC's and DS2500's. My question is shall I also change to braided lines? What's the benefit? I was going to go for some that BTM supply (not sure of brand) but saw a couple of good reviews on here a while ago.

    Taking apart the Headlight.

I've done this before on some fog lights, takes a while but it does work.

    Are Speedline 2118s Ok?

6.5 is a little narrow for the Clio and I imagine if you stuck 195's on the them they might buldge over the rim a little?

    Strange handling characteristics

They don't have to leak to be worn, mine have done 70k and not leaked however they need replacing.

Which gearbox fluid Do You use?

I used a bit of old hose pipe and a funnel to refill the gearbox as you'll not get near it without.

    My new rallye

    - A friend has one on his CTR it's very subtle and could be an idea to get some air without butchering body panels!

    Fan on feet not working?

For some reason the setting to blow air onto your feet has decided not to work anymore. However when you turn off A/C you still get a quick blast of air on your feet? Has anyone else had this problem or know what it might be?

Is the RS192 just too quiet? Also...

RS192 has a subtle exhaust note, poor fitment though. With the decat fitted it gives a deeper note and does drone a little. I've now got a Yozza so drone is normal!

    My new rallye

I went for some motorsport mounts specifically for the 106, they did a great job on the Pugsport and Supersprint exhaust I had fitted - http://www.kamracing.co.uk/kam-racing-motorsport-exhaust-mounts-peugeot-106.html

    Powerflex ARB bush advice/help

Iirc you can use longer bolts on the inner arb bushes to pull it all together. If not some mole grips, I've not personally done it but read a few threads.

182 Anthracite wheel touch up paint

Ideally you need to order the proper stuff which is Ixell 205-110, you should be able to order from any bodyshop or online (that stocks Ixell)

It look me a little while to get my head around it but the RS Tuner guide is worth reading. I'm happy to help out if anyone gets stuck.

    Rstuner

This is what I did on mine at the weekend: 1. Download RS Tuner software from Fastchips website 2. Connect RS Tuner to Laptop and click the RS logo to find out code needed for unlocking (for second hand RS Tuners) 3. Order unlock code from Fast Chips website and include the unique number from...

    City Powdercoating again

My friend just picked up his 350z wheels from City Powdercoaters and theyve done a great job. He also got £20 off as they closed the day he was due to collect. Oh and it's best just to turn up with your wheels, they're terrible at answering the phone!
