Hot hatches are getting fatser but with it they seem to loose some of the cornering ability, so I agree with lager lout about the all round package.
The golf gti has got better with each incarnation in terms of outright pace, safety, luxories, comfort etc. However ity can be said equally that...
^^ I went for the same 195 16, they do seem to expose the rim a little more (kerb city lol!)
They appear to squelch on corners as if there under inflated (i put same as cont 33 front and 31 rear)
It may be that they need a good 500 miles or so I dont know but stability on corners isnt what...
How many miles should it take to scrub in a full set of tyres?
I have replaced the contis on my cup and almost wish I hadnt but have done less than a 100 miles since then!
Cheers in advance
No, you caused the crash lol! The sooner you realise this the sooner you will become a better driver, the taxi is irrelevant, whatever caused the ppl carrier to stop is irrelevant the only relevant factor is that you were to close!
Sorry if this sounds harsh
Hope yer gf has a swift recovery
I too have slipped on diesel and wrote my car off, luckly with no injury whatsoever to me or my wife and no 3rd party involved. It still sh*ts me up though thinking what could have been.
Right lets ignore class sizes LOL!
In terms of outright pace it would appear that the new rs clio will be no faster in a straight line than the 182 18 months down the line!
There are faster hot hatches in a straight line than 182 but none really come close in terms of handling
For example the 147GTA is a missile but wouldnt see which way a 182 went om a twisty road.
GOLF R32, just as fast but at almost 1500kg, not exactly nimble
Leon 225R again maybe atad...
EVO class the clio as a hot hatch and for arguments sake the VTS as a supermini
However they also class the mini cooper s as a hothatch an dthe mini cooper as a supermini.
I do agree with Mitchy though as in effect it will be 182 performance in 18 months when all the other hot hatches will...
Sorry to hear about that but it would appear you are placing too much emphasis on the taxi driver, sh*t happens but it would appear you were too close to the car in front!
Try not to think about why the ppl carrier had to brake hard it could have been (in another scenario) for any reason, cat...
Assuming it is 181bhp then your looking at around 200bhp a ton so it wont have trouble staying oir leaving a std cosworth
The escort cosworth takes 17.1 secs to hit the ton btw, a valver with similer spec should take 15!
^^^PMSL
If you ahem..have to do an emergency stop to teach someone a lesson you are of course braking because a cat ran out in the road and funnily enough said cat is now know where to be seen!!
Personally I would try a paint cleaner to remove said marks, woulnt nornmally recommend on brand new paintwork but if theyve gota go, theyve gotta go!
Try clear coat body scrub...
AG resin polish works well and looks good but ultimatly is abrasive and is a complete no go - best to be avoided.
People do seem to be confusing polish with waxs
Polishs can be split into non abraisve glazes which nourish the paintwork and the abrasive variety which can be used for scratch...
SOunds like youve got a minting track day cup there mate.
Unfortunatly I would price it significantly lower than a bog std cup if selling to the general public, modding cars only really detracts from their price for general sale. However if you can find the right sort of buyer then you could...
I agree
The original cup as detailed in EVO was supposed to weigh 950 kgs and have 180bhp!
The current cop is somewhat of a compromise as they could have stripped it further with manual window winders etc.
However if it was a hardcore trackday beast they would have been hard pushed to...
You can pay for a false insurance certificate, saved my wife a few bans/points in the early 90s!
WIll cost you though and you ahem need to know the right people!
;)
