Dont sell that wheel, that definately looks like it can be refurbed. Get it done profesionally for £30-40 and save yourself a lot of hassle. Chances are they will be able to get a 100% colour match too

+1 if that rear quater cant be pulled / banged out then its not worth repairing. Sell it for scrap and start again or break for spares.

Posted some pics up mate, would be great if you have any and i cant find any at this scrap yard.

Basically this is both headlight units currently look like: I need the things that sits in that gap to allow a bulb to fit tightly into it. Not sure if its the same on any other renault models or just specific to 172 mk2ph1 headlights.

are they all the same? just been to a scrapyard they didnt have any of the same dual optic lights and i couldnt find any that looked like they fit! anyone know any other renaults that have h7's fitted as standard? im going to a french specialist scrap yard because theyve probably got something...

bought some 172 sport lights off a member here and completed the conversion as per the guide... unfortunately i havent got the main beam because the seller never included the bulbholder (no mention it was incomplete :dapprove:) ... where can i buy one? Renault want £15 for each side :(

The camera quality on my phone isnt really good enough at night to shoot decept pictures that do the lights justice... just been, tried an failed :( Anyway, mine looks simular colour to the pick but brighter + seems to fill the car more.

Do i actually need to buy a new loom? cant i just soldeir the new tdc sensor directly to where the old loom connects bypassing this apparently useless connection bridge?

Bump for an old thread... im a newbie to car mechanics what exactly does the following mean? disconnect the TDC sensor from the plug and then turn the A & B pins a little bit to one direction

even if you need the new wiring loom?

I get minimum >340 miles per tank comfortably, that includes some spirited driving. IF im absolutely thrashing it (>4500 revs) the lowest ive had is 220ish miles to a tank.

Just checked it out in the dark... a very cheap and effective mod. Yes it does shine slightly even when its not on / doors closed... but i kind of like it its hardly noticeable.

My clio mk2ph1 1.2 8v starts 50% of the time straight away but the other 50% of the time it ticks over for ages and doesnt want to start (from posting in other threads im thinking its something to do with the tdc sensor). Another problem, has happened on a few occasions over the last 6 months...

Not sure mate havent tried it in the dark, but my friends fiestas use to so i guess so.

any actual real mechanical advise? seeing as i didnt post this in general chat...
