I was waiting for someone to point that out.
I dont know myself to be fair. I was with direct line when I had a new mini, and took my own policy out for this car as I was under my dads name before. They did mess me about a bit as far as setting up my insurance goes, and no claims bonus, when...
Id try and come to it. Cant make the Swindon one, and I wanted to come to this one, but had to work. I finished at 5, and came through Bromsgrove to see if I could find you all. From photos it looks like it was Rubery you went. Should have guessed.
I had a problem where mine wouldnt start. But it did tick over, whereas you said yours didnt do anything. But found mine was the immobiliser. After messing with it for ages and trying 101 diff things to get it started, I think It was just the turning on of the ignition and leaving it for a few...
Not sure whether it was a 172 cup, or 182, didnt see the rear. Had a carbon fibre bonnet. Going up past the British Legion. Flashed lights and waved. I waved back!
I drive my car quite hard, but I do do a lot of motorway drivin, although I still drive it hard then. I prob average about 35mpg, and normally can get about 350 miles out of a tank. Best is 360. So Im pretty pleased with that!
Cant you just claim the front damage on the insurance, and pay to get the rear repaired yourself? That way you dont lose you NCB, and you would prob get the rear repaired for less than what youd pay for the excess!!
Sorry to hear about it mate. I know Id be gutted!
Just request that the tyres are changed and the tracking checked. I got my 172 cup as a used car from a dealer, and made several requestes, alloys refurbed, couple of creases taken out of the door, and fair play to them , they did everything I asked.
got a 172 cup when I was 20, cheapest I found was elephant.co.uk at £1600, turned 21 and it went down to £650 (with privilege) - 4 years NCB though.
Id have the 172 over golf though. I do a lot of motorway miles, but I was more interested in a fun car to drive than an economical one. It all...
Its not really important, and not that bothered. But all the websites I looked on and the mags I looked at when the EVO 6 first came out said it was 4.4.
Thats not really what this topic is about though. I say you should get a V6 either way
Like I said it was only IMO, as much as you can tell from sitting in a passenger seat. Both cars are a few years old now, so cant remember exactly. But I thought the EVO was 4.4secs to 60, and the P1 about 4.6. That making it quicker. I know 0.2secs is nothing, and would come down to driver...
Unfortuantely, before I was old enough to drive, my dad test drove the P! and EVO 6 in the same weekend, and the EVO 6 was quicker IMO, but it all depends on which EVO 8 you are looking at.
Spoke to my uncle who is a mechanic, and he said the same - didnt think it would be the cv joint, as this knocks. He said it might be a stone or something in the disks, or rust on brakes. He said just to brake hard next time it happens, and hope it clears it - I just hope theres nothing behind me ;)
CV joint?? Whats that? I assume its important as you are saying get it replaced sharpish. Would it be a warranty job if it did turn out to be that? Is it a big job?
Na, its the wrong kind of sound for it to be the wing mirror whistling. A bit of grit on the brakes may be a possible reason, may have possibly got there when I was having my rear pads changed a few weeks ago.
Any other ideas?
