I know there is the argument going on above, and I do intend to do the odd trackday in the future, but do they really warrant spending £500 on them when the majority of my driving is on the everyday road?
Yeah you do. I think there is also a little code in the bottom right hand corner of the plate that only comes on legal plates. Therefore making it easy for the coppers if they feel like earning some more revenue.
I did think that, but I dont think she would be bothered with the hassle of getting it colour coded, plus th extreme 4 has got a different front bumper to other models I think.
Slightly italic. Doesnt stand out loads so that you get pulled over, but stands out enough so that people notice you have a private plate.

The gf is now undecided about getting a new car after reading this thread. She doesnt like the thought of losing so much money.
I will speak to her 2nite to see what she intends to do. If she is still interested I will give you a call tomorrow. Would it be possible to come and have a look at...
Dan is literally the man. Knocked another £700 off the price off a new one.
Cheers mate!
Just gota discuss with the gf. Hope she appreciates me spending all day at work looking on the internet for her (o well, getting paid for it:D)
cant fault you. itl come down to finance or loans as well. i think she got an ok finance deal at renault.
what are these car super market places like? has anyone used them?
I have emailed that Sunwim company (think thats it cant remember now), as they appear to have a few for sale. Only problem is them being in Yorkshire, and Im in the midlands. Ive asked if they deliver though.
Dont get me wrong, I agree with all of the above, that buying a year old one is the best thing to do, but like I said I cant find any used Extreme 4s.
If anyone knows of any used Extreme 4s then I am sure that my girlfriend would prefer to buy it and save herself a bit of money as well.
Not my money ;)
Im not quite that good a boy friend.
I usually wait until we have been together a year before I start buyin 9k cars for my girlfriends. :)
The website states:
"£8,437 OTR inc metallic paint"
for a 1.4 Exteme 4 with met paint. Also the one she has got quoted 8.2k for has a CD player which I dont think is standard either
I have just had a look on autotrader website and there arent any on there. The extreme 4 is too new! There are a couple of DCIs on there and 1.2s, still less than 1000miles on the clock, all around the £8k mark.
She specificly wants the extreme 4 because it is the new 1 with the colour coded...
She is only 18, 19 next month and although she has been driving her dads car for the year that she has had a license, she cant really have anything more powerfull due to insurance etc.
She is looking at a 1.4 or a 1.6 extreme, and I think she will more than likely get the 1.6.
The girlfriend is looking at buying a new car, and likes the clio extreme4. As it is a limited edition and hasnt been around all that long, she is more than likely going to get a brand new one.
Is this a good idea with the mk 3 clio coming out later this year? I cant help but feel that not...
