Off to Germany this week so spent the weekend going over the car, tweaking the suspension (full spax Trackday coilover setup), nut and bolt check, and finally a good clean.
Had the Hankooks fitted to the 2nd pair of wheels so I'm matching all round, and on nice fresh rubber. Got the Brembo...
When I fitted my 182 manifold to my 172, I made a decat link pipe. Had to fit a cat shortly after for the MOT, so I welded in a small one from something else. Made so much difference to noise without effecting power that I left it in permanently
1mm hole in the breather plate is inside that area, giving PCV (positive crankcase ventilation)
Aside from that it's just a leftover from earlier versions
You'll struggle for serious interest. I've had a lot of "interested but need to hear somone elses opinion" for the spax kit over the last year. Only now there's a number of sets on cars are people prepared to take the plunge
You'll get more from any setup by learning to drive better. Depends how experienced you are and how much of a limitation you really are finding the current setup. I like the stock setup for just being able to make it dance and play around on track, but I go faster with upgraded.
Same price (as I buy these through them being a KTR exclusive) They're pretty heavily discounted from RRP (about £100) so the only real margins we make on them are from fitting
exactly. I've had loads of customers justify mods to their mrs like this over the years. "well is needed a new exhaust *cough* and this performance upgrade is cheaper than a standard one"
Loved my 6230, Loved my 6280. 6300 is the best phone ever made (note, phone NOT smartphone) 6500 was brilliant but probably the last Nokia I will ever buy new
