Got an indicated 120 MPH on the clock in my Mk2 Punto Sporting. Obviously there’s going to be a small amount of error with the speedo at the speed, but still not bad for a little 1200cc having 6 gears may help it a little. Still missing the 140MPH of my old 172.

Bloody cheapskates that use to be standard kit, don’t they make enough on the 172 as it is with out taking bits out of it.

The 6 disk changer is standard kit in 172’s isn’t it? I had one in mine and I never ordered it as an option.

I have had 3 Renaults and 1 Fiat My Mom has had a Fiat and now has a Renault My Dads last car was a Fiat I can say from experience that Fiat’s are no more problematic than Renaults and don’t cost any more to service.

So 174 and 131 are crap then, fare enough. You wont see many 172’s that put out more than 172bhp most struggle to put out 165bhp. BTW my car only had 2000 miles on it when it put out that power.

The day it put out 174bhp was a lot cooler than the first time i had it Rolling roaded when it was red hot, and it was also running on optimax and had a bottle of octain boster in the tank. It put out 131bhp at the wheels. Not bad from a bog std 172 :D.

Only difference between a UK 172 and a Euro Import is the UK one has one year more warranty and has a alarm. Apart from that they are identical.
