    most likely a non genuine shaft used, in which case it wont fit properly and the joint will have worn prematurely.

    thats FAR from conclusive. Could easily be wheelbearing or shock from that test. You need to check for play with a pry bar and look for movement in the joint

    Pretty pleased with the results on the cars we took today :) The petrol blue made 186 and 160(ish) which i'm very happy with for the work done :)

    also worth mentioning the lower idler which comes in the genuine kit is £46 on it's own. There's no reason to buy anything but the kit

    The mk1 was actually OK, but lots of small things which added up to a tatty car, based on a 1.8 8v that was already a cat C. Needed new bumper, bonnet, arches, a full respray and being narrow track with crappy castor angles, the handling wasn't ever quite up to scratch. Also ran 238mm brakes...
