So...after 2 years of ownership and 18 months on throttle bodies as a daily driver, the RSIder was finally nearing the end of it's life

so when I was offered a nice tidy monaco blue 172 with a knocking engine, I saw an opportunity to have a bit of fun

After an interesting arse clenching drive back from Milton Keynes, I managed not to stick a rod out the block, so pulled it all apart so see what the extent of the damage was

the story wasn't great, every journal on the crank scored, and the insides if the engine looked like the oil had been in there a very very very long time.
So, the plan at this point is a standard rebuild, some ARP rod bolts, a set of cams and some matched inlets.
oh, what the hell, lets do some port work and enlarge exhaust ports to ph1 size

Oh.....look what I've got ready for another project thats been put on the back burner

On the phone to jenvey for a manifold and adaptors to fit DCOE's onto an SF manifold, then do a bit of drilling, tapping and matching

LONG!!!!!!! this is going to be a tight fit!!

On with assembly (dont seem to have taken any pics of the bottom end build )
 )

Almost ready to go in now!! Just cam timing to do at this point
