When i had Golf GTi number 2, I had a set of Yokohamas. Those were the days before I became a responsible motorist, and I got 9k out of the Yokos...but at least I was enjoying them rather than pottering about like I do now! :D

tom, ya maddo, lol! :D
yeah, I guess wears a factor, but so much wear? Ive been good guv, honest, which is why Im surprised its gobbled them up so soon.
Oh well, next month itll be tax, tyres and at some point, service numero uno. Ching ching!! Times like this it would be nice to find that...
gave the Puppy a really good wash yesterday...scrubbed up nice for a tiddler. Checked my front tyres and sh*t the bed!...theyre down to the legal limit! Ive only done 9k! I dont boi-racer it (no wheelspinning, although lately its been getting a lot frisker and spins its wheels in second and...
hang on. Now Im getting confused. The point of cars conforming to EU standards is that they pass EU agreed regualtions, correct? So, an EU agreed emissions regulation in Spain would be the same as an emission regulation here, right? So why two different exhaust set ups? Whats the point of that...
"The reason dealers dont want to pay the same for a import as a uk registered car is ! When Mr customer comes to buy a second hand car he will have to be told that its a Imported car. He then knows that the original owner got it cheaper than a uk reg car. So he then says to him self why should i...
precisely Paul. Its sour grapes. The dealers are miffed because they havent fleeced us. Im still not see how adding an alarm to a ClioSport entitles a dealer to add £4.5k to the price. For that much, Id expect a 24hr security patrol, never mind an alarm!

If people are scared of imports/made scared of imports by the trade, then demand for uk sourced cars will increase, which could lead to limited supply of certain versions of uk sourced cars. And when supply of a commodity is limited, what happens to the prices...and who would profit from this...
but the used value of a car isnt based on its price new. Surely, a year old Clio with 12k on the clock should be valued according to the fact it is a year old Clio with 12k on the clock - not whether it cost £15.5k when new or £11.5k. Ok, so lets look at this another way:
Lets say chap A was...
geordie paul,
its called the criminal injuries compensation board. idea is that if youve been a victim of crime and suffered a financial loss thats not covered by insurance, you can put in an appeal to them for a claim. never used it myself so no idea how good it is.

the law has no power over them. the kids are flouting the loop holes in the law knowing damn well they can get away with it. Teachers are scared to discipline in case they are accused of abuse, parents couldnt give a feck about where their kids are and we wonder why theres so many kids out on...
thats a bit mad, isnt it! Small world eh? If youre going to the Lonodn -Brighton thing this year and if youre interested in travelling with another Clio from the area, let me know.
cheers,

i bought my clio from Trade Sales. The only thing missing was the alarm and the radio code. The cd-changer was under the passenger seat. Car came from a dealer in Paris, so its an EU sourced car that complies with EU regulations, exactly the same as you would get from a UK-based Renault dealer...
well, there were two of them in the car. It was a white current shape Astra, they had constabulary ties on, no hats, no high-viz jackets, a phone in the car with a conventional handset like youd see in HeartBeat (im not kidding), what looked like a police-issue note book, and they didnt show any...
well, i wasnt given a producer, or any grief or a fine or anything. so maybe i got lucky? :) Ill check tonight - the chap who lives below me is a policeman.

no nev mate, it was a white one, with lights hidden in the grill and, if im correct, attached to the sunvisors as well. Initially, i thought it was a spoof. Now i come to think of it, they didnt show me any id, and they took my address...wonder if my motor will still be there tomorrow...
just coming back from a lunch time kebab with my work mates, I was driving up toward Virginia Water when an unmarked Astra behind me stuck on his blueys. Didnt think Id been speeding so pulled over and got out my car before he did.
I walked over to them both and the officer in the passenger...
im writing a press release, then Ill be having a major panic about the fact I have a meeting in Belgium tomorrow and someone forgot to book himself a EuroStar ticket. Woops.

Jeremy,
Please restore our faith. If you honestly care one bit for the Clio brand, please, please listen to the complaints we have about reno dealers and the service. Quite frankly, it sucks. If youre the Clio brand manager, i guess you care about what we think of the Clio, right? In my...
i drove a mates car some years back and got pulled by the police (i was in a business park at midnight-ish looking for offices to rent - must have looked very suspicious). I had to do the producer thing and while i was at the station the officer studied my insurance policy and said that i wasnt...
"You cant expect to get in the car at 6.30am select 25 degrees, turn the fan to full and expect instant Tenerife weather."
And I wouldnt. But I cant see why that should preclude the fan operating at max speed even if the temperature had yet reached what was displayed.
