Fairly upright. Like to have my legs slightly bent when the pedals are fully depressed, arm straight and the top of the wheel touches my wrist. As low as possible in the car as well.
You need to decide which direction to take tbh. Suspension more focussed on track won't necessarily work on the road. Mine's fast-road, but goes on track. So reclining (rather than fixed) buckets, road tyres, the interior stays in (rear seats out on track) etc. So it's useable everyday, but...
Comparison with my brothers
There's no doubt the ph2 is more modern looking. But at 3K, you're more likely to get a decent ph1 than a ph2. And the ph1 is the better drive imo. (That's not owner bias, I sold a ph2 172 to get the ph1)
