Yeah big improvement. I must say, driving it is making me want one!

My mate has been talking about removing the stickers from his car for ages, but he's lazy and has never got round to it. As a thank you for lending me the car, I said I'd give it a go. The weather was pap this afternoon so I put the car in the garage and cracked out the hairdryer. From this...

    Question for the Rally guys!

I have some ginger tablets that I got in the US. They are amazing for nausea.

    Clio 172 cup rally/race/track car

Yeah have read very mixed stuff about them online, but never really think you can put too much stock in it. Sure they're not as good as a Michelin, but would be very interested to hear an honest review. They are bloody cheap that's for sure.

    Clio 172 cup rally/race/track car

Everyone seems to rate Michelins. I probably won't go with anything too fancy to begin with, maybe try and pick up a few cheap part worns if possible, just for shakedown purposes. Running 17" wheels doesn't help greatly I suppose.

Paint the cam cover man ? I've been looking at tyres today. Funk me they're expensive ?

Got to say, I'm impressed with 'my' 197 so far. While it isn't quite so eager as a 1*2, the confidence it gives you down the lanes is very, very impressive. I was in full heal 'n' toe, chucking it about mode within no time at all. Have thought that a Clio might well replace the Escort as my...

    Leon FR Estate

Only if it costs about a quid ? insurance will no doubt try and screw me. Probably just going to buy a cheap shed to smoke about in for a bit

    Leon FR Estate

I put some pictures in here: https://www.cliosport.net/threads/new-sensible-ish-daily.818474/ Yeah they do have their issues. It was a nice car, but I wasn't really gelling with it particularly. God knows what I'll replace it with.

Looks smart does that. Shame the S-MAX let you down. My Mondeo got punted by a Fiesta on Saturday, so it doesn't look like it lasted long enough to cause me any trouble ?

    Android Pie.

I noticed that, don't like it. The app switching/closing thing now seems more like an iPhone. I really hope that's not the way they're going. I bought a Pixel precisely because I don't like the way iOS does certain things.

Yeah. Doesn't feel so lively as a 1*2, but more planted and much nicer as a daily.

As the Mondeo is goosed, I have borrowed this off a mate for a few days: Said I would take the stickers off it while I've got it.

    My Car

Keep it simple I think. Maybe a set of wheels from a Sport, Sport front grill and maybe a set of springs. I wouldn't go any further than that, just enjoy it ? Is that the official BMW title ?

That's incredible. Long time to own something! I do love how some haulage companies embrace and celebrate their heritage by maintaining some old vehicles. Bet it's quite an experience to drive.

That picture is hilarious. That old truck in the middle looks like a toy next to the modern stuff!

A local rag have confirmed that Rockingham is dead. Being turned into a storage site for ex-fleet cars for auction apparently. What a waste.

    BTCC @ Rockingham 2018

You're probably right there. I'm sure he could make it work. You'd think they would be able to make something of it. It's pretty central, the track is good, the oval is a bit of a USP, so I thought it would be able to make a few quid. Guess a lot of investment might put people off. Heard they...

    Riggers' Primera P10 trackcar

I love how virtually every sporty 2.0-litre four pot in the mid-90s made about 150bhp. Astra GSI, Escort RS2000, Golf GTI 16v, Primera GT, Ibiza 16v, 306 XSI, they all seemed to do it.

    strengthenig gearbox

I think welding to the casing would be a problem. Ally doesn't take well to welding and welding to cast can be a PITA. Where do they usually fail? Any pics of that?

    BTCC @ Rockingham 2018

A shame about Rockingham really. I went there several years ago and it was a bit of a funny place. Not very well thought out somehow. Sounds like it won't be around much longer anyway. Maybe should try and go again before it disappears. People have told me that the track is actually fairly good fun.

Clio 220 trophy PH2 vs Megane 275 trophy chat

I had a Meg 265 for a year. Sold it earlier this year as I needed something bigger to tow with. Great car though. Bit quiet as standard but a mid box chop sorted that, while not being intrusive. I've driven a lot of modern hot hatches and the Megane really is up there with the best of them...
