    Late 172's (ph2) had cruise control and TC/esp. Early ph2's didn't, the one's inbetween had TC/esp but not cruise.

    Nope, they have the same setup as 172's, so actually you have more choice in coilovers

    Yes, unplug battery for 15mins. The resistor's are fairly self explanatory when you get the seats out, but there is a guide floating about if you search,.

    My new wheels are about 6.5kg. It makes more difference than I realised to the ride quality.

    In all honesty, there's no reason to buy a car w/out cup packs over a 172. Hold out for the cup packs, or get a late 172.

    Easy job IIRC. I could bring tools and we could probably get it done in the pits at Oulton! (talking about putting new discs on with bearings already pressed in!)

    Yep, a Ph1. Good thing is the bonnet is currently matt black, so any stone chips wouldn't show up.

    I was looking at a place near cheltenham, but I've abandoned the full wrap for the moment. I've just emailed the carbonskin place above about getting the bonnet done.

    Depends on the quality, the stuff I've been looking at is 4yrs +. The cheaper grades are more difficult to get a good application, and less durable.

    Looks good, but keep the standard rims. Seat alone is worth the purchase price after Ali's sat in it.

    Thats what I'd expect. Doesn't make the 197 slow, the Astra's are just very rapid in a straight line. Still utter garbage though. The worst performance car I've ever driven (the Astra, not the 197:o).

    Personal preference and driving style play a big part. I can't stand the exalto, and would say the f1 is a far better tyre. Assuming the prices are for 16inch? If so not a bad price.

    Quick google, Autocar got the VXR to 100 in 14.33. The 197 was circa 18s. Now 1 or 2 secs would be close, nearly 4 isn't. And that was a standard VXR, the ring version with the zorst has more power.
