    remap

TBH you are very unlikey to notice the difference between maps power wise, nobody is going to notice 1 or 2 bhp difference. The reason for remapping is to make the car better to drive, smoother power delivery and in the right place. If you're chasing BHP you have bought the wrong car.

    Internet data

Where did I say i'd been downloading for 24 hours? I said i'd downloaded 35gb in the last 24 hours (10x the 3.5gb the OP had in 3 days). That's less than an hour at full speed. I couldn't download full speed for 24 hours for 2 reasons, 1) Virgin drop your speed after about 5gb and 2) I don't...

    Internet data

3.5gb is nothing at all. You could easily burn through that with online gaming and 'normal' internet use in 3 days. For example, I would estimate I have downloaded 10x that in the last 24 hours easily! (when you can download 40gb+ an hour, it's pretty easy to get through that much data!)

SMD & LED sidelights causing problems

You do realise that SMD is an LED, it's just surface mounted. Also, you do not need to spend exta on 'Error free' bulbs. Can't answer the question though, i've no idea why it's doing that!

    Which Media Player ?

With all the apple devices you have I'd be getting an apple tv. I have one and use plex, it's a great setup.

I'm with virgin on the 100mb package, it's currently been up and running since the day it was installed about 10 months ago. I experienced the YouTube issue for a couple of weeks by all is well again now

    Plex

Nice one, got it. I think I probably need your email address though, to add as a friend? Not really sure as i've not used it like that before. I'll have a look when I get home (in about half an hour!)

Workshop/ramp hire (by the hour) East Midlands

I'll just wait for a nice sunny spring day (if such a thing exists?) and get it done then. I thought it was just worth checking if there were any in the area or not before slumming if on the driveway

Workshop/ramp hire (by the hour) East Midlands

I'm going to be doing the belts and waterpump, new thermostat & probably some track rods too (and any other bits I can think of). All of which I could do on the drive, but with the crappy weather etc it's not something I fancy doing. I may just wait until spring and do it all then. Cheers for...

There's a company that refurbs them, i'll see if I can find it now. EDIT: Here it is, not sure on the cost but it's got to be cheaper than new! http://www.aaronsautos.co.uk/page7.html

    Three one month sim deals

I don't think you can go wrong at that price. In the early days, yes 3 had there problems. However I think they are pretty much on par with the other major networks these days.

Workshop/ramp hire (by the hour) East Midlands

Hi All, Does anyone know anywhere in the East Mindlands that rents out garage space by the hour? I'm after somewhere with a ramp but don't necessarily need tools (I have most tools I would need tucked away in the shed) There's a few bits I want to get done on my car, I have the tools and...

    what's wrong with this 197?

    Warranty...

My bet is the inside pad is seized! Mine were exactly the same when I bought it. I had a fair bit of travel and poor braking until I stripped and cleaned them, then they were awesome!!

    MOT Difficulties - Advice/Help Needed!

Not that I would condone this but........ Surely if he's that good of a friend he could pass it without it ever going on the ramp? Dangerous for him though, especially if VOSA decided to do a spot check that day!

    Warranty...

Strip, clean, deglaze the pads, then re-bed them in and they'll be good as new (if Renault won't sort it of course)

    Warranty...

Any ideas when the front brakes were last serviced? The Brembos really suffer if not stripped and cleaned at least annually.

    Canceling Sky+

I found it very easy to cancel my Sky subscrition when I moved to Virgin. I told them I was changing to Virgin, and if they could match the package exactly (including the 100mb BB) I would stay with them. Of course they couldn't, so the call lasted about 5 minutes maximum. He did try slagging...

172 Climbing the Mileage, Updates *pics*

I'm not trying to say there is anything wrong with it, just that £1500 (IMO) is too much for a cat c car. I presume it's been VIC tested (should say on the V5 i think) and that you have informed your insurance company?

172 Climbing the Mileage, Updates *pics*

Did you see the car prior to being repaired? When did the damage happen? Personally I would have bought one with 80k that doesn't have accident history, mileage is less important to me accident repairs.

    Oldskool internet Speeds.

I remember the 56k days, I used to work on the premium rate helpline for BT, "calls cost 50pence per minute and will last no loger than 25 minutes blah blah blah" I'm currently with Virgin on the 100mb, but should be 120mb shortly. A 10gb file downloads in about 14 minutes, plus the Tivo box...
