Your description of how the accident happened doesn't make sense to me. If she pulled out infront of you how did she sideswipe your bumper?
A bit of a better explanation may be needed. However, I'd say if there is a witness then it will go down as your fault.
Easier? Yes
Cost effective? No
The last car I sold was a 2005 Pug 307 HDI. Best part ex I could get against an R27 was £1200. I sold it on ebay with a no reserve auction for £2600 within 7 days. Part exchanging is just lining a dealers pocket. I wouldn personally only do it as a last resort.
Good point actually. This is the very reason I always self service. The only time my cars visit garages are MOT time, tyre changes and soon my cambelt. Everything else I tackle.
You've bought a 5 year old Clio 197 with no history? I hope it was cheap!
It's due its belts around about now (it's 5 years old TODAY, happy birthday to your car) so if you don't have any proof of them being done then get it done soon. Other than that it's the same as any car, if it drives ok...
I love being old(er)
£347 for my R27 for me and the missus. Hers is only £250 a year on a brand new Seat Ibiza (again, for both of us)
Most i've ever paid is £1,100 but that was when i was 21 and was for a modified Punto GT and a Golf VR6 (Yes, £1,100 to insure BOTH at the same time)...
I'm not being funny, but if you don't know what you need should you really be atempting to service it yourself?
A lot of it depends on which service interval you are at. You could need all/some of the following: -
Oil
Oil filter
Air filter
Fuel filter
Spark plugs
Pollen filter
Cambelt +...
