Yep, std paint will be fine. i painted the block of my Punto GT about 8 years ago. I painted it the colour of the car using rattle cans and lacquered it. 5k later it was still good as new.

The replacement 'box would only have been covered under warranty until the car warranty ran out. You only get a 12 month warranty if you contributed to the cost of it unfortuantely.

Yup, sounds timing related. I had something like that on an old 1.0 micra that I managed to time up 180 degrees out. Maybe the belts slipped or something causing the timing to be out?

Hmm, odd. You sound as though you have checked most of the things people would suggest. You appear to have a spark, fuel and air so it SHOULD run....? I've got no ideas i'm afraid.

I think he's referrring to the expansion bottle for your coolant. Is the coolant level normal?

As above, why an S Line badge? S Line has nothing to do with it! I'd be putting standard badges on it personally, but failing that just a simple 20vt badge maybe?

Sounds expensive to me. What headwork will be required? You might get away with a set of new valves only, which to be fair isn't a huge job when you've already got the head off. I'd be asking for cheaper alternatives than sticking a new head on it, that's total overkill in IMO. Failing that...

Ok, so we should be moving home in the next couple of weeks. The living room will be getting completely overhauled, carpets, decorating etc. I think it's a prime time to lay some speaker cable for a future use (I don't currently have an AV receiver, speakers etc but will in the next few months...

Call your insurance, let them deal with it. You aren't at fault and its there job, they'll probably refer it to a claims management company anyway.

68k on mine, passenger side was repaired by Steve @ R-Sport, drivers side is JUST starting to wear thin. I think mine have lasted well tbh.

We are currently with VM for TV, phone and BB. We are just about to move house. My plan is to have VM for the BB and sky for TV, not bothering with a landline. ​Tivo is terrible, but VM BB is the best available so I'll have the best of both worlds!

Lol at only 325 bhp from a 5.7 litre engine that the owner paid £6.3k for! If your doing it, do it properly! Why not use an engine with decent power?

There's no way those belts are only a year old. They are in a worse condition that the 5.5 year old ones i took off mine a couple of weeks ago!

Can I ask what you recently had repaired that cost £1400?

Id imagine as long as you are inside the 6 years/72k and the fault can be proven to be the belt and/or one of the associated tensioners then it should be covered. Have any 197/200 belts actually gone before there time? mine was 5.5 years old when I changed it and it looked good as new.

Prices changed in April. Not all groups go up, but the group our cars sit in went up by a tenner.
