My new car, Deep Black 197

Has it had the belts done? If so where was it done? Lack of a 'kick' can be timing being out. I have a definite performance increase above 5k in my car.....

Ok, so I ordered the full set of tools to do the timing belt on my car this weekend, parcel just arrived and I'm missing the cam pulley locking tool. I have the extended cog needed but not the main tool. does anyone in the midlands have this tool available that I could borrow today or tomorrow...

    197 help

Cup spoilers are the devil (as the waterboys mum would say!) Either none or at a push what Steve said!

    Revving upto 9,000 rpm

But it's not just a 'bolt on kit' is it? This will require MANY other upgrades to make that kind of power.

    Is it worth........

A Clio sport mk2 is only 1.4 isn't it? Not much of a step up from the 1.2 you have in terms of performance (if any) or are we to asume you mean RenaultSport Clio? Ie 172/182? :rasp:

Going to look at this 197 tomorrow

You can't, honestly! Peole have tried. They will only offer the full hub! Youre welcome to give it a go though!

Unfortunately not in this case, it can only be bought directly from RenaultSport. There are threads on clio197.net. I'll dig out the threads and post them here. Ignore the belt costs, as long as there is proof of the engine change (proper documented proof, not just his 'word') then they don't...

Allthis aside, are you ok and how is your car?

    Crashed :(

Hmm sounds like a tough one. Does sound a little like you pulled out on the guy, but at the same time he really should have been able to stop. Proving he was speeding will be very difficult, but your distance fromt he junction should help with that. Ideally you need witnesses, do you have any?
  18. Chrisgti6

    Crashed :(

He doesn't have to. If he hit you from behind he's at fault, simple as that. Unless there are other facts you haven't given?

Going to look at this 197 tomorrow

Looks good for the price. lemonnobby1 isn't quite correct. The hub ball joints can be replaced, although you'll have to go to Renault Sport not your local dealer for the part (dealers will only sell the complete assembly). I believe they are roughly £70 + someone to fit. Front brakes aren't...

    Crashed :(

Even if your insurance was made void because of the plates (it won't) you won't be claiming on your insurance, it's the person who hit you's car insurance that will be paying up. Even if your car wasn't insured full stop, the 3rd party insurance company would have to pay up.

    Oil pressure

Not sure how relevant that is to be honest. You realise it's coolant temperature don't you? It's nothing to do with oil at all.

    CV Joint Problem

Wouldn't it be easier just to buy a stretch fit boot and a cone & lube? 5 minute job then. ps I know nothing of the 1*2 setup, so this may not even be possible of course so ignore me if necessary!

    Learner Driver

Insurance is usually cheaper for provisional drivers, think about it logically - they HAVE to be accompanied at all times so will clearly be safer. How often to learners crash, rarely I would imagine. Then once they pass they are off on there own, this is when they are most likely to be in or...

    Jolla - Sailfish Mobile Phone

Looks very similar to the HTC 8X, even the menu looks similar. Sounds like its running a version of android too or at least something extremely similar, it's compatible with android apps. http://www.htc.com/www/smartphones/htc-wp-8x/

    SDHC card problem

Have you tried putting the card into the camera again? Does that work? How about hooking the camera up to the PC with the card in rather that the card in a card reader?

    Jolla - Sailfish Mobile Phone

Looks just like every other smart phone on the market and doesn't seem to bring anything new or innovative. Can't see it succeeding tbh.
