When they changed the layout of the track at bedford, they took a few cars over and timed them. Was near the back where they list the lap times. If you subscribe, open the latest issue and check the lap times, will be there.

No offence fella, but ffs, here we go again! They have the same life span as any damper, but whereas on a 182 if a damper fails you need new dampers, on the Trophy they get rebuilt. So it's no issue. The ride of a Trophy will be better than a lowered 172. Espec if it's a 172 on Apex !!

I've owned both. The Trophy is a far, far better car to drive. It will hold it's value better, has the recaro's as standard, and turini's.
Anyone that advises you not to get a Trophy because of the costs of damper replacement is a moron. All dampers will eventually fail, but the Trophy dampers...
Had a few (but thanks;)). The noise isn't particularly nice, the fit isn't great (plenty of prev threads detailing dropping backboxes), and isn't light. The noise is my opinion, but the rest are just the truth.
I've got a ph2 stealth. Sounds ok, there are far better out there. Very heavy, fit is pretty shocking (all of them suffer this, they hang wayyyy too low), and its pretty boomy. I'm not a fan, but I got it cheap to replace a disintegrating standard system. I would not buy one again, because in...
Fred reckoned it was that. Had a look when it was on the car, no play in it, but the noise was horrible. Had a play when I picked the car up, could hear the sound straight away when rotating the fucker.
The parada's are good when dry, not so good when it's wet. Never tried the T1R, but IIRC they use them on the exotics where Fred works (ferrari's etc) without any issues.
All aftermarket exhausts I've heard on the 182's get a bit boomy at motorway revs. I think it's to do with the exhaust design, and the floorpan design.

Really nice choice. Rather than colour coding the existing side strips, i'd get the st side strips in black. Good cars, i prefer the way they handle to the st.
Order the whole kit, afaik the tensioners can be a weak point. For the cost, better off replacing the lot. For ref, just had my whole aux belt kit changed for £180ish, fitted.
Sounds like a normal dealer valuation. Probably put it up at 9-9.5k. Cars are difficult to shift at the moment, reflected in the price. Anyone that part-ex's at a dealer has to know they are getting taken for a ride.
I'd be more concerned with checking they were pinned correctly from the factory. Guy on cliotrophy found the dampers set differently right to left from the factory. Nothing wrong with unpinning the dampers, they were designed to be adjustable, so whats the problem?
Viper green. Been done before, but looks epic. Decent vinyl won't harm the paint, most damage occurs from skimping on the material, using cheap stuff which is hard to apply/remove. If anything it'll protect the paint beneath. I say do it.
