Ph1 is the best (in my biased opinion;)). Hardly any heavier than the cup, but you get to keep the toys (Air con, ABS), throttle cable (lots nicer to use). For the cost of a cup, you could get a ph1 172, decent coilovers, and (bar the looks) you have a better car IMO.

I'd see a 182 as a side step for a fair amount of cash, but you would be getting a newer, better equipped car. The only upgrade driving wise would be a Trophy, but if you don't like the colour, thats a non-starter.

Given that it's nearly 10s quicker than an exige s over the ring (running the same tyres afaik) I maintain that in the hands of the same driver, it would be considerably quicker.

It's amazing. I'm sure there's a gazillion posts where Ali says people that haven't lived with/driven a Vee shouldn't comment on it. And yet he's got some strong opinions on the R26R. I'd wager it will be better to drive than a standard Vee. And be considerably faster. Won't look/sound as nice...
All 5 of mine have, 2 of them from new. As said, more pronounced if the dampers are screwed. Easy to check the dampers, climb under the car with a torch, look for oil on the dampers. No need to take to a garage just to check them over.
