No, the MSA definitely don't help. It would seem to me, however, that it would have been in SD's interest to properly homologate the cage from the off. They've sold plenty of them, so surely the cost could have been offset. But, I guess they get another pile of money with people now replacing them!
I'll try and grab a picture of the sticker on mine at the weekend if I remember. As I say, SD told me mine was ok but said the Clio one was never homologated.
Yeah you'd have to assume that any dash dodger could be effected, unless it has FIA/MSA homologation. The cage in my Escort is ok because it is homologated.
I contacted the MSA about this because I was a bit worried about the cage in my Escort, but thankfully mine is homologated so not effected. It surprised me that the Clio cage had not been homologated. I guess the new one will be though, as otherwise this could easily happen again.
They look s**t, snap them in half and throw them in the bin so our eyes don't have to be sullied by them ever again lol.
I've never seen a car where they have suited it, they just look like 90s car accessory shop tat. I can't say I ever feel the need to have the window open when it's raining...
I was back in Winnipeg last week and saw a yellow Evo V parked outside someone's house, reminded me of this thread. It had a dent in the dour unfortunately, but looked ok otherwise.
Been looking at the price of property out there, really does make you think.
I like that. Refreshing to see one that isn't going to be turned into some kind of drift/scene thing.
Would think these could be quite a good handling, fun car with the right modifications.
Shame that, I really like the look of it. Sure you don't want to sell it? Could even de-spec it a bit lol
You have three MK1s and I can't even find one lol
It would sure be a good comparison. Similar power to my R but a very different type of car. Would love to see how the Clubsport feels by comparison. Next time I am up that way, you are very welcome to take me for a spin!
I have a lot of time for the Saxo VTS, I think they're awesome. The trouble would be finding a good one I think. It would be much easier to find a good Clio than to find a good VTS, so that would sway me I think.
As for the MX-5....they're mobile chicanes, so no thanks. I have never come across...
