As I say, I'm yet to have the chance to try one out. I am car shopping currently so maybe I should lie to a dealer and have a go lol.
As for the OP, given that about the only options are Polo GTI and Clio RS, it would seem sensible to me to test drive both and decide from there. People on a...
Drove a 200 EDC a couple of years ago and it was "ok" but nothing more. Would like to try the Trophy but not had a chance.
If I was looking for a 5dr, B-segment hot hatch to fulfil daily duties, I would be looking at a Polo GTI. The VW DSG box is likely going to be better than the Renault one...
Passed today. God knows how anyone can slate these cars, mine has had it's head kicked in relentlessly, is on nearly 137k and it cost £1.49 to get it through the MOT lol
Just to update this for anyone who is interested...
I just spoke to the DVSA and explained. They looked up the failure record and also the found the exemption for the Cup and agreed that it shouldn't have failed. The retest is booked for Friday afternoon, so we shall see.
Ah yes. His looks like this one: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/honda/integra/honda-integra-2-0-type-r-dc5-face-lift-model/5710230
Not as nice in my view. The bumpers look a bit weedy somehow.
Yeah I can understand that. Mine is fine for brake pressure (no advisories anyway), so the hydraulic element in mine is still working correctly. He just says that the arm needs to move, which I would contest, seeing as it isn't supposed to move from the factory!
I did wonder that but, given how crusty it looks, I find it hard to believe that it would have been free last year, so that makes me think that they didn't test it.
Yes, that topic again.
Before I go back to the test station with the printed notice in hand, I just wanted to check-in on this issue to ensure that I am talking sense. My car failed the MOT on the following:
"003 Brake load sensing valve linkage seized rear (3.6.E.3)"
Before I took the car...
Dedication to get some camber there!
I test drove a 275 yesterday but found the seat a bit high which surprised me. Not heard anyone comment on it being an issue before.
Each to their own lol. Drove a 740 to Italy through the Alps and a 940 turbo across a few great roads through Wales and Scotland. I would not want to repeat the experience lol.
The joys of the MSA at work. Most dash dodgers don't strictly follow the MSA guidelines regarding following the A-pillar, but it is a real grey area. The problem is, if SD decided not to have the cage FIA homologated, this was always a risk.
Sell the other two, keep the 850. It's the best looking, has the best engine and is an appreciating classic in the making. The other two are just boxes that should be left in the 80s where they belong lol.
I used @markfishy to MOT my car last year. Was definitely worthwhile as he noticed a couple of things that I wouldn't have done. I wouldn't trust many people with my car, but Mark really knows his onions.
