If you're prepared to go to an LUK unit look here http://www.buypartsby.co.uk
£72.68 from them. LUK are OE in a lot of cars, I put one in my old GTI-6 and a 307 HDI and had no issues.
182 cup rear shocks £49.90 each inc VAT & delivery
HERE
I've used them loads recently, excellent service. It's actually Fish Brothers Renault in Swindon.
Pressure isn't a very great indicator tbh. They take a set amount of oil and refrigerant and the only correct way to check is remove and refill with the correct amount.
Get yourself over to www.clio200.net. Couple of charged 197s on there. Not sure about turbo'd though. The only ones I know of are megane 225 conversions.
Some will say yes, some will say no. It's down to personal preference and wether you want a newer car or not. Also, depends on the spec. Do they have Recaros? That usually bumps the price up
Out of interest, I asume the 197 is and F1? It should be for that price. Get yourself over to...
Please don't pay 8k for one that needs the belts doing. Either get them done in the price or you want £500 knocking off. I won't tell you how much I paid for my car but I could have bought my R27 AND a 1*2 for the price that is advertised for.
What is the F1 bodykit can I ask? The F1 only had the vinyls and anthracite rims. otehr than that they were identical on the outside (obviously cup suspension set up too) Any you see with spliters/spoilers were either options when buying or added afterwards.
Are you sure it's not just from where you've changed the filter? It's difficult not to spill any when unscrewing the filter tbh. It could just be slowly running down and accumulating on the lowest point
I'd give the whole thing a good clean down and check again before dropping the oil a second...
You should always get a price BEFORE agreeing to have work done! He might come back and say £500 and refuse to give you the keys back unless you pay up (i know it's unlikely as you know the guy, but in general you should get a quote first!)
402's for mine isn't it? I've got a 197.
Tempted to get some fitted when I get the belts done. It's not such a massive price then as i'm killing 2 birds with one stone!
Cams - £1200
Wheel refurb - £200
Small car park dent removed from rear quarter £50
Half a tank of fuel £50
Hoping to do this lot during the course of the year anyway
Pretty sure you do this using the buttons on the wiper stalk (the trip computer buttons)
It'll probably be something like press and hold the button (move to the correct function first) for 10 seconds and it will reset.
I'll try and find the correct procedure now and post it up.
Oil
Oil Filter
Sump Washer
Air Filter
All depends on the intervals mate and what it's had done/when. You may want Brake fluid, coolant, fuel filter etc etc
Just a quick question...
Why are you having it done so early? The interval is 72k or 5 years. You are way off both of those. Seems a waste of money to me. I've not read of a single failure on the 197's personally.
Regular stuff is things like tyre pressures, tyre condition, oil level, coolant level - All weekly as far as I am concerned
Then you move onto your service schedule, stick to the mileage AND ages. If it says 12K or 1 year then it needs doing at whichever comes first (more regular won't hurt...
Definately this. I've used this on a number of occasions (no, i'm not a wheel theif!) Find a socket that doesn't quite fit over it (preferably one of the multi point ones, not just a hex shape, and a deep one, not short) smash it on and undo it.
Job done! (however, you'll probably want a vice...
But it's cheaper in virtually every other way, servicing, tyres, brakes, tax, insurance etc etc
Since when is MPG alone an indication of how cheap a car is to run?
