Just wondered if there were any horror stories I guess.
Only got the 12v impact wrench at the minute but that’s standalone as I need 18v for the tools I’m after so I’ve not committed yet!
So I need to start buying some gear for DIY projects at home, and I’m a bit torn. I know most on here have been touched by Milwaukee but for the kit I want to buy initially, like for like (ish) Makita gear is £150 cheaper.
Ive had quite a lot of Makita in the past and always liked it so it...
I bought one years ago when they first came out, pretty much the best £100 I’ve ever spent as I worked outside. Might even buy another just out of respect for it being such a good idea.
Thats annoying they won’t discount if you’re spending a lot. I’ve done a few of the kit builder things, prefer to pick exactly what I want as they all have 1 or 2 bullshit things in and as you say lower spec stuff.
I‘ll keep my eyes peeled for what I fancy. For now I’m just happy the child’s...
Sds, combi, impact driver, probably a planer too and a splash of 5 amp batteries to start with. Got some DIY to get cracking on in the new house.
Mate at work is trying to persuade me to go Makita instead of Milwankee
I blame Dan for not realising when I told him my 55mm socket was 1/2” that I clearly meant 1”.
But in all seriousness am I better getting the 1/2” drive socket to use with 3/8 gun, or 1” socket on a 1/2” gun?
Or just stick with my breaker bar and stop being a wimp like you lot?

Tried it on all settings.
Can’t be bothered to get a pic! Although I fucked up and my big socket is actually 1” drive so had to use 2...
Mine turned up today but won’t undo the rear wheel 🤦♂️
Just putting the battery on charge and see if it will with full juice.
@dann2707 please can you PayPal me a refund?
Ah that would be rubbish as very overkill for 1 nut! Or I could chuck the bike in the van and drive over to you for a real life test?
Ive always avoided this thread as it’s a slippery slope with tools, this would be a steady start of stuff I barely need. Added the ratchet as I want a free cup.
Thanks mate, looks decent enough. I’m sick of swinging around a 1200mm breaker bar and risking damaging the wheel!
It’s a big diameter, 55mm socket but not actually sure on the thread diameter. If you fancied doing a test that would be awesome!
Pretty sure it’s 1/2” drive socket so I’d need a...
