    Martin's DCi 80

update on it! done 13k miles now since I got it, let me down for the first time the other day when the drivers window wiper sheared off! on the motorway, 2 hours from home (going the opposite direction! had to return home, get the trophy and drive 4 hours back the way I was going!), in the...

looks awesome in the flesh the kit, this is the one they had in the showroom yesterday, didn't fancy £18k for it though lol!!

    Bought a GT 128 VVT

my DCI one was like that, the big heavy car suited the torque of the diesel for making pace down a twisty road, it was better on most of the s**t roads up here than my cupped 200 was! it used to bang and bounce all over the shop! these handle closer to a 200 than they do a Dynamique S, I drove...

did I pass these on the motorway on trailors lastnight?

High Mileage Club - 100K plus.

our driving school twingos get replaced at 2yrs 100k and they are done by then. We used to use Toyota Starlets and they would get replaced at 4yrs sometimes 230k+ and they were still on the original clutch!! to give the twingo their due though they do 100k in 2 years and all they require is...

    What are the differences between..

briefly from memory (may not be 100% accurate)... authentique is the basic one, 1.2 8v engine (think it was available in a dci65 too) 14" wheeltrims, tape player, no screen at the top of the dash for outside temp etc, manual mirrors. no rear speakers did have electric windows though...

    Remap results for 200 EDC

most turbo charged Renaults make over book figure too so id say either this RR is a bit conservative, its a poor engine or 200edc's in general are rubbish lol! my Twingo GT made 105bhp standard, my Gordini 112bhp and my dci 100 107bhp and the meganes seem to all put out good numbers

Budget Clio MK3 1.2 Turbo project, DAILY

that's a cracking buy that! FMIC, panel filter, exhaust, 182 injectors, RSTuning hello 140bhp+

Clio mk4 diesel from the Netherlands!

wheels look good in the last few pics, remap results are good too bet that goes well! do these use a VNT turbo or is it just a normal one? do they have a DPF?

06 Clio dCi 100 - any major issues with them? Looking at buying one.

no need for a diesel then if your not doing many miles unless you need it for towing or just prefer the way they drive

    172s are awesome

Do it mark! from reading your comments/opinions and watching your videos online you seem to be very similar to myself, I think you would get on very well with a Trophy, I love mine much more than any of my standard or modified ph1, ph2's, 200 etc. also driven my mates Fiesta ST at length, which...

    Twingo engine in a mk2 1.2?

totally different engines too, tuned D4FT's go so bloddy well! they are the same if not worse on fuel than F4R's though when your pushing on!

IF I were to change springs what else should I do at the same time?

as a minimum id stick new dampers and top bearings on but ideally I would want to do track rods and track rod ends too then have it setup on a hunter machine. if your flush with cash you can look at lower arms too which come with new bushes and ball joints and replace the ARB bushes while its...

06 Clio dCi 100 - any major issues with them? Looking at buying one.

ouch, shame as you would have saved that £200 in the fuel costs in a couple of months!

    Converting dci 65 to 80

don't listen to this guy hes been wrong on here every time this topic has came up. you have already swapped the intercooler setup so all you need to swap over is the injectors, have them coded to the car and then just get your current ECU flashed with the correct or uprated software. turbo is...

    MPG of Clio MK3 1.5 DCi 106

I drove mine properly flat out everywhere most of my commute was B roads with a few town sections and it done 45-50mpg most weeks, taking it easy on the motorway at 70-80mph it would do 60+ it was 10mpg worse off in each situation than my dci 65/80/100 for *indicated* mpg, I never worked out...

06 Clio dCi 100 - any major issues with them? Looking at buying one.

6 speed dci 106 mk3 is a much better choice however hold good money. DCI 80 is a good car, I love mine, the ratios and gearbox are much better than the 100, but the engine in the 100 is worth the extra cash! im trying to get my mate to part with his 100 daily to build a hybrid out of my 80 and...

    Twingo engine in a mk2 1.2?

different gearboxes but you could either use the twingo box or use your own box with minimum modifying. you would need a downpipe made up custom to fit your exhaust
  24. Martin_172

    After a bit of advice

to be honest as much as you have said you want to buy a non rs and build one you really need to have a full car to convert it so you woukd need to buy a non rs and an rs and do the swap, then you would have your track car in the weaker shell with a sunroof.

Heat soak in a 172/182 engine bay ? Project for my dissertation

intercooler mod on an n/a car is a silly idea as you can only cool it to ambient temperature at best case scenario! Better cutting a hole in your bonnet and mounting a filter outside lol

    Twingo engine in a mk2 1.2?

    straight swap same mounts!
  27. Martin_172

    Twingo engine in a mk2 1.2?

if your pre 2004 engine with grey engine cover then its slightly different, if your post 2004 engine with the black engine cover that's part of the airbox then yes the TCE is just a turbo charged version of this engine
  28. Martin_172

    Complete 182 suspension refresh

    that's everything I done
  29. Martin_172

    Twingo engine in a mk2 1.2?

you could look down the route of getting 1.2 TCE inlet manifold, exhaust manifold, turbo, boost pipework, 172 injectors and having someone map your ECU if its possible to map them. obviously theres a bit more fabrication involved in that but its a route you could go down
  30. Martin_172

    Twingo engine in a mk2 1.2?

economy would be much the same my old 140bhp one would do 25mpg when driving it hard and low 45mpg just taking it easy. to convert one I think it would be easier to buy a smashed twingo GT and convert the lot straight over including dash! or at least that's what id do as electrics are not my...
