^^ as smokey says volts got nothin to do wiv it. most home amps are 6 or 8 ohms, so aslong as the amp is seein a load of more than 6 ohms then it will work fine. try and stay as close to the rated impedance of the amp as possible as the higher the impedence then the harder the amp has to work...

ohms is the resistance in the voice coils of a speaker, 2 ohms is half the resistance of 4 so the amp can giv a bit more power cos it aint gotta work as hard

basically u hav ur positive from the battery goin to the positive terminal on the cap, then from there to the positive on ur amp. then just earth the negetive terminal on the cap.
hold on, hav i got the wrong end of the stick here or hav others? wen u say there was oil on it, u mean on the electrode part that would be normally inside the engine or the porcalean bit on the outside? if its on the elctrode part then the rocker cover gasket is not the cause
which 1 u got m8? cos there is one that is just like a silver box wiv loads wires, one goes to the stalk, one goes to the display, one plugs into the remote socket on the HU and the other goes to the CD changer socket. if it is that one then no u dont hav to take dash off but its a b*****d to...
