    There is a slight difference between the breather plate and the Inlet. The breather plate doesn't extend into the inlet on the 182. The breather plate doesn't have the CC take off like the 172. The 172 Inlet doesn't have the CC take off like the 172 one does.

    Water meth ftw! My Cupra R ran a 50/50'mix of it, and during winter I was seeing intake temps as low as -15'c when it was around -2 ambient.

    The 182's CC port is on the inlet rather than the breather setup on the 172.

    The 182 inlet fits right on. The inlet only has 1 port that is different.

    The immobiliser cuts fuel and spark, so it's not that. You should have 12v at the coil, you said you had 3xground?

    There should be 2 earths, 1 just above the driveshaft on the gearbox. Another that goes from the front lower gearbox mount to the chassis just in the wheel arch where the subframe mounts. Check those.

    Do a compression test, see how it is. Get the stem steals replaced as the cams are out IMO.

    You really like giving incorrect advice don't you! You must use the 182 inlet as the carbon canister pipe work is different. Or you change the pipe to that of the 172.

    I leave the support bolted to the block. Just undo the 2 bolts holding the plate.

    It should just slide off. If not I use a drift and tap the inner cv joint between that and the centre bearing. Couple of gentle taps will see it free. Have you remove the 3 bolts or the 2 bolts that hold the securing plate?

    Lift and twist ;) Lift it engine first and it'll come out with the gearbox following.

    It'll come out the top easily. Take the slam panel off and it practically falls out.
