There is a slight difference between the breather plate and the Inlet. The breather plate doesn't extend into the inlet on the 182. The breather plate doesn't have the CC take off like the 172. The 172 Inlet doesn't have the CC take off like the 172 one does.
There should be 2 earths, 1 just above the driveshaft on the gearbox. Another that goes from the front lower gearbox mount to the chassis just in the wheel arch where the subframe mounts. Check those.

You must use the 182 inlet as the carbon canister pipe work is different. Or you change the pipe to that of the 172.
It should just slide off. If not I use a drift and tap the inner cv joint between that and the centre bearing. Couple of gentle taps will see it free.
Have you remove the 3 bolts or the 2 bolts that hold the securing plate?
