Sounds like you didn't even test drive the car? If you had driven the car you'd have discovered about the heavy clutch, loud exhaust and likely noticed the tyres were shot. Clutch sounds normal. The k+n and stainless exhaust are bonus so sell on here if not happy. Dealer might be kind and...

I had this issue when mine was replaced by Autoglass. It's because the sensor isn't touching the windscreen. The guy fixed mine by putting some sticky pads between the bracket and sensor so it would contact with windscreen.

I had the modified loom and TDC sensor fitted a month ago. Battery is fine as well so don't think it's either of those. Which part on chasis and gearbox does the earth connect to?

What you've listed sounds about right apart from budgeting for when things break. Full breakdown cover comes in handy as well. Last day I did car broke, needed to get a friend to recover my car and had £300 bill for fixing it.
