my 172 wasnt exactly mega refined compaired to a boring turbo hatch or a diesel but who gives a s**t, it had a peach of an engine that took 50k of fast road miles, it punched well above its weight

its a piece of piss, 4 subframe bolts out, both rear subframe brackets off (4 bolts each), drop the suspension off it, subframe will drop down, keep an eye on the PAS pipes, some say unbolt the steering rack...
standard vs standard they are slower than a vts due to it being lighter with atleast 10bhp more depending on if its a 120 or 130 version, they are quicker than VTR's though... just!!
diffuser has the side parts missing at the moment as were waiting on rear spats for the back bumper coming back from the bodyshop to see what looks better. the big cut out in the diffuser is where the exhaust goes.
weve just about completed the single turbo conversion on it.
and its my mates...
lol @ the chassis not being able to cope with 200bhp, yes its going to crumble up like a tin can and put you into the nearest bush the chassis on the non RS and RS is identical apart from a slightly different ARB at the front and different springs and dampers, which he has already said he is...
looks really good i like it!
how you finding the toyos, as far as performance tyres go i dont rate them too high BUT considering they are generally a budget tyre going by price they are awesome value for money! although mine have tried to kill me a few times lol
funny enough all the low millage 182's on PH and autotrader (ie under 15k miles) are non cup pack cars, i didnt understand it? however the only one thing that would put me off owning one would be the resale, even if a non cupped 182 handled like a mk2 172 (and rory has already said his felt...
no need for coilovers for the road, slightly uprated springs, prolines or sportlines maby, dont get me wrong coilovers wont make it any worse on the road unless its seriously bumpy but you wont get the benifit from them.
id put a panel filter in it, matched inlets and remap it, nice healty...

take it uve never driven a big power rear wheel drive car? lol anyone who crashes a clio 172 on the roads deserves to have their licence revoked for life.
agreed at the end of the day its a slightly quick front wheel drive car with a good chassis, you cant get a safer fast car than that!
i found my 172 handled that well it was impossible to crash lol
cheap ass pikey lol because a cheap ass pikey would spend £2600 a year 3rd party on his own insurance, of course i insure my cars legitly in my own name so i can get no claims bonus, 1. i just fancied adapting an arrogant b*****d attatude to start arguments as you seem to have fun doing so here...
has it had the brake fluid changed every 2 years like renault state in the service book? 100% thats your problem! no need for aftermarket stuff its the fluid due a change! mine were getting like that when i sold it, they used to be monsterous!
manifolds and cat are different so ideally you need to run the 182 manifold and 182 cat or atleast a 172 manifold with a custom cat.
cut out spare wheel, weld plate, weld on new hangers and it could be fitted
