i changed the cable in my old 1.2 16v and it made a big difference, the cable i got (genuine renault) was different design from the 1 that was on it (original genuine one), seemed to have a big weight on the end of it, dont know if it was to help with the weight but it made a difference, old one...
ive only ever done a 1.2 16v but the cable and route is similar iirc, i done it with the engine out which was really easy (as the engine was out anyway, i didnt take it out for the job lol) but i can imagine space will be your main problem, trying to get to it, but like i said ive never done on...
old filter is black so even going for a brand new renault filter id probably notice a difference lol, but yeah see how it goes.
cleaned the egr valve this morning and still no change, still dropping off boost at 3k revs then spooling up again at about 3.3k revs :S hope it doesnt need a turbo...
yeah its an awesome little bus, might map it just for some extra power but doesnt really need it as its just for about town.
the money im saving is brilliant, but i miss the 172, cant wait till feburary/march to get it back on the road :D
I said that lol, the money saving made me go for it and im so glad i did lol thing does abot 700 miles to a tank of diesel! lol
if its for your sister whos 17 why not look at a dci65? the dci80 will be more expensive to insure
depends what you want, dci 80 is rarer so 65's go cheaper thats why i got one because i didnt want to spend over 2k.
8v doesnt matter, theres no need for them to be 16v
haha aye there not quite eagle F1s but the cars just a runaround and all 4 tyres have loads of tread left so there staying for now! lol
cleaning the egr valve tomorrow, got a K&N pannel filter for it and going in tomorrow for oil and filter for it, anyone recommend some decent oil for it? ive...
well thats me had the DCi65 for 2 days now so thought id give my opinion on the car.
the car its self is a red 1.5dci 65, 140k miles, bit scruffy on the outside, imaculate inside, drives awesome for the millage, anyway....
the car is a complete hoot to drive, yes its slow especially coming...
cool guys, couple of my mates are looking at getting a lockup for the cars over winter so might be able to chip in for something like that, although i dont like leaving it anywhere but my driveway where i know where it is lol
not a problem, mate im off for 2 weeks starting on the 22nd of this month but could probably fit in a day off before that if something suited you got msn?
yeah mate no problem coilovers only take an hour really, if its foxys old ones you'll get it lower than my old 1 hehe if hes sold them as the custom setup he got? only thing u'll need to get done is the tracking and alignment i cant do that lol
hi guys, 172 is staying off the road for the next 4 or 5 months (ill be doing a lot to it during this time!) all im wondering is what i should do to protect it? it will have a nice couple of coats of wax to protect from the elements and ill be able to take it the odd run around my private land...
cheers for all the comments, up close its a bit rough but nothing a wee trip to my mate at the bodyshop wont sort :)
172 is going in there too next month for a full front end respray :) guy is awesome!
slam it on its arse, i still to this day miss my 1.2 16v dynamique with the cat back exhaust and coilovers, was low as f**k, bounced about everywhere but the road pressence it had was awesome!
in the last 2 years thats me had clios with 320,000 miles in total haha
it drives awesome i expect many more miles out it if i behave myself with it (probably end up with a huge turbo and a massive front mount haha
The Big Yin, never done one yet, ill let you know how i get on haha think i...
track tuition and experiance to learn to use the standard power to the full, then start looking at the rest, first thing id be doing modification wise would be stripping it to loose as much weight as possible, remember BHP per tonne is where its at!
its not quite the fabia VRS i was going to get but its a brilliant wee bus for £1800
really nice to drive compaired to the 1.2's due to the heavy steering like the 172 and the low down torque, nice wee town bus lol
