Let's say you buy it for 8k, the belts need doing in 3 years time... So youd need to keep it 10 years for it to be worth ~15k. In that time you'll have spent £1200 on belts, brake fluid every 2 years, coolant changes every few years, gearbox oil, probably a lot of bushes, maybe brake lines...
