It was driving me mad so I tidied it up for you a little, next time f22 and a tripod would give you pin sharp focus, I noticed the back of the car is a little soft.

The usb connector from my Kenwood HU goes straight into the glovebox, no cutting or drilling needed as the front of the glovebox isn't the tightest fit, so the wire just feeds through the gap between the lid/door and the box itself.

I bought a second hand JC5 from a breakers for £275 and it's spot on, you can get them on here for around £250 sometimes cheaper, if you can fit it yourself then you're quids in. I'd imagine you'd lose more than £250 selling it with a crunching 2nd.

Well it sounds like you have two options then, refurb/replace the gearbox before selling, or tell any prospective buyer about the problem and take a bit of a hit on any sale. I don't know what condition your car's in or how much it's worth, so you'll have to decide if a refurb would be worth...
