You drove past me on the Henley Rd at 11am,
I was pulling out of Dame Agnes Grove, Bell Green
in my dirty Iceburg 172.
This is the second time ive spotted you in the same place
you have "ClioCup" stickers on your side skirts.
Car was looking well clean, puts mine to shame!
When I start the car up the SERV & ABS lights flash once,
this is after all the warning lights have gone out.
I'm thinking there's an old fault code logged somewhere but my RSTuner
only reads the ECU.
Is there a way of reading the ABS unit?
Does it store fault codes aswell?
Whenever I get grease or crap on my windsreen I use
white vinegar on it and the wiper blades and that always
works for me.
Stinks for a bit but that soon goes away.
I use turtle wax shampoo when washing my car and that includes
the windsreen, never had a problem.
The rear one goes under the main one, there should be a metal bracket with 2 holes that it slots into.
It doesn't attach to anything like the main one does.
Maybe i'm not using the right words, I know it probably hasn't gone
back to standard but it certainly feels like it.
We all know when our cars dont feel right, I got use to the new map
so I really notice any drop in power now.
It just strange that when I refresh the ECU it sorts the porblem...
You could be right, all I know is what I can feel,
when its working properly it pulls from 2k right through the rev range,
when its not working nothing really happens till 4K.
It feels like it did before it was remapped.
I remapped my car and its great when it works,
every now and again it goes back to standard, I plug the
box in and no fault codes come up, I erase and refresh anyway
and it sorts it out.
Ive started turning the ESP off before I start the car and the
remap last a bit longer before it goes back...
This happened to mine execpt mine wouldn't lock,
the boot lock mechanism needed replacing, the part cost me £60
then I needed it it fitting.
To replace it you will have to unscrew the inside of the boot from
inside the car, only 1 screw secures it ,the rest is held on by clips.
Just pull it...
You need to open the software first with the Tuner box plugged
into your laptop. (If you can find it on your hard-drive)
Then connect to the car.
Easier said than done if your cant find the software.
If you PM Henk it could take him a couple of days to reply.
I had this on mine, it was grease and crap on one of the ABS sensors,
Cleaned it and it went away for a bit but eventually I needed a new one.
A faulty brake pedal switch has been known to cause the warning lights to go
on, check to see if your brake lights are working.
If they are then it...
If your into bikes no car is gonna feel as fast unless you spend big money.
If it makes you feel better i'm not enjoying my car today, it's p1ssing down
with rain, the windows keep steaming up, the remap I did felt great yesterday,
today it feels like its gone back to standard, I need 2 new...
Guenuine filter from Renault.
Ive just checked the dipstick again now the cars cold and its on minimum.
So hopefully its only lost a litre.
Gonna buy another filter tommorow, drain the oil, fit new filter and
pour whats left back in.
Hope that sorts it.
Direct line told me that because my GDI/Piper stealth diddn't change the look of the
car (stuck out the back) that it wouldn't count as a mod, just a stainless steel replacement.
OK, i'll check for crap on the blocks ring, and make sure its on quite tight
the only thing I can do is get more oil and a new filter and try again.
At least it took a week for it to all leak out and not all in one go.
If I hand tighten it and then another 3/4 will I have tighten it with
a...
Ive lost damn near all of it mate!
However the temp guage never moved and it has just below minimum
on the dip stick, and thats after its cooled down.
I hope to christ its not a hole in the block face, but it did cross my
mind.
I coming to this conclusion aswell, i've changed the oil myself
on this car and nothing went wrong and that was the first time
I had ever changed the oil on any car and I had no problems.
Strange!!
I diddn't think it was anything me or my mate did after all
it's only an oil change, not...
Yes I did that, primed the filter and rubbed it round the seal.
The mate who helped me builds modified land rovers for brutal
off road abuse, he knows more adout cars than i'll ever know.
Thats why i'm a bit freaked out about it as it was only an oil change,
not hard to get it right, hes...
That was the first thing I checked mate,
it was bone dry, ive traced the leak back to the oil filter,
there is a big slick of oil starting from the filter.
I changed my oil last sunday at a mates house,
and today the oil waring light went on, checked the oil
and its all leaked out from the filter!?
What the hell could cause that?
It's a brand new filter, it was hand tightened.
Suggestions?
I understand the point that the rear just goes over the rubber top mounts,
I had the same concerns about it not being welded to the chasis and was worried
that I was wasting my money, but it does work.
It's all to do with keeping the rear struts more rigid and reducing movement,
of course...
