That part number for the car isnt a renault number mate. If you have a poor exhaust that will do it. i say change your plugs as well mine werent that good after 36k

i think reverse may have its own selector due to making the box spin backwards.

very strange i would have said some sort of box problem. its not external does the collor on the gear stick move ok? if so i would have said the selector fork in the box.

will it go in with out the engine running? try that and start the engine and see what happens?
