much easier on a ramp but not that hard if you know what your doing/have done one before.
ive done a 1.2 16v, dci65 and 1.6 16v and they were all straight forward enough, doing my dci 100 next week too
JR5 wont fit a 172 either, JC5 is fine anyway as long as you know how to use it properly and not abuse it as long as your rev matching on down shifts and not rushing it into gear it wont go wrong!
i put mine on my old 1.2 16v with cable ties and they lasted 30k miles before i sold it, probably still on!
i usually use jubilee clips now if someone asks me to do one, they metal clips you get on them as standard are useless

spraying the engine cover pearl black, waiting on another tin of paint to finish it off as i ran out so got that to do then the 2.0 16v sticker (cheers n2grafix) then lacqure before its finished, test fit today....

what you need to do is loosen the clamp between the centre section and backbox, its 2 13mm's you dont even need to jack it up if your thin like me, then loosen the 13mm on clamp that goes round the backbox (need to use 2 13mm's one to...
i could write a book on this assuming were talking about both 172s and not just ph1 and ph2 in general which id say ph2 is much better, feels like theirs a lot more than 3 years between them!

not sure red springs, not eibach, not sure if its spax or something, handles ok, going to do bushes, track rods and track rod ends and then take it from there with suspension and dampers
i have a dci 100 and a 172, the 172 is very tiring to use every day compaired to the dci with its light clutch, light accelerator, unlimited torque i only really use 3rd, 4th and 5th gear in the dci lol ocassionally 2nd when pulling away from a standstill its very easy to drive, drive it like a...
