If you look in my thread I have pics of having removed the carbon cannister. This will help with your cold air feed and also free up some space under the drivers arch.

I did take mine off just before Xmas and they looked the same as before I put them on and they'd gone through some punishment due to the poor weather conditions.
It goes from top to bottom like this:
Inside boot: nut, then washer, then bush.
From underneath arch it goes: bush, the washer, then shocks.
Basically how you have it in the first pic but seperate the half's and one goes under the arch into the turrets and the other on top of the turrets once...
Mine has a note change at 2.5k as well as 5k.

Also, I've put a bit of rubber strip on the brace so that it doesn't rub. Not really noticeable on mine as i have silicone pipes but it's worth a try on the ally bends.
