as you probably know they are crap as standard and will probably have fallen off before lol.
i cant find a picture of a standard 172 exhaust but here is a pic of a 182 exhaust, the actual backbox its self looks very similar...
cylinder 3 by any chance? its a common fault, afaik it happens in these engines when the spark plugs arnt torqued properly and cylinder 3 is always first to go.
yep deffo resistor pack, its under the scuttle pannel on the drivers side, ive sorted one by drying it out with a hairdryer, but tried it on another and it didnt work!!
deffo something loose id say as theres nothing internal that i can think of that would make that noise plus it seems its vibration causing it since its only at a set rev band
lol it will run on stuff a lot worse than normal 95ron fuel, renault do recomend 98ron to get the best performance but you likely wont notice a difference unless its mapped for 98ron fuel
yeah thats the one lol, even in arctic it looks awesome haha wont be getting painted till the full cars going in feburary to have the front end etc done
bit more progress today...
fitted both driveshafts, both track rod ends, both bottom arms and removed the front brakes ready for the 4 pots :)
fitted my cup spoiler to see how it looks, awesome! just needs painted now.
the rear bumper was removed and sold as i no longer wanted an exhaust...
followed a 172 cup from perth to stirling yesterday on the way back from the rally, monidal blue, lexus lights (only 1 working), twin exhaust hanging off, anyone from here?
renault didnt call it the FF so technically theres no such thing as a 182ff either :rasp:
cars nice mate, would look much nicer with standard wheels though lol
no better manifold out there for the 172 than the 182 manifold, thats what im running on mine and its awesome, paired up with a k-tec decat pipe and k-tec recessed system its awesome, pulls like a train compaired to standard!
renault quote over £550 when i checked, a non dealer might do it for around the £250/£300 mark if you supply the tools if they dont have them. MAKE SURE they do as their required.
best bet is maby to nip into the workshop at renault and ask 1 of the RTE techs if they fancy a homer
Was going to keep this quiet but after a weeks work and some time collecting parts im too excited and need to spill the beans LOL
anyway, the 172 after 5years and 45k miles of hard driving was starting to feel a little tired, still pulling stronger than ever with the 182 manifold and decatted...
the hydraulic steering is very heavy i had an argument with my mum who insists my power steering "doesnt work" lol but its awesome for driving fast with when your used to it!
wheel should return to the centre though, check tyre pressures and check for un eaven wear
anyone got the renault workshop manual for doing the cambelt on the 172? ive got the tools just fancy having the manual before i start incase theres anything i miss!
loose the spare wheel, tool kit, all the carpet in the boot, the plastic on the inside of the boot, rear speakers, sound deadning behind rear door cards would be a start while still looking standard!
stripe is horrid, wheels look gash, sport badge and random other badge look out of place
id have kept it tidy looking, keep it simple, subtle, remove badges not add!
