    40mm too low ?

    my old 1.2 16v clio was around -80mm all round, on anything more than a smooth road it didnt handle worth a f**k, fast bends it would bumpskip in the bends. i personally wouldnt be going any lower than -40mm on a 172 unless it was for track only use.

    what oil?

    its a high performance high reving engine, you can use cheap oil in it if you want, your car, but theres no way id be using tesco oil when hammering my cars nuts in round a track. oilman im sure will come on and back me up with this and the real facts about these cheap "fully synthetic" oils.

    manifold split or burst at a joint and thast probably why its banging, my 1.2 16v used to do that when the flexi burst.

    im sorry but thats a lot of balls ^ i use millars fully synthetic motorsport oil in the 172, changed every 6k and always use genuine filters

    its basically the same engine so would all bolt on fine, its the engine management that would be the problem (and expensive part)

    im cutting my original cat down and welding the flanges on so it fits the new manifold for mot time. insurance is covering it no problem.

    never expect miracles with these cars lol, wouldnt be doing it if i was paying for fitting (i beleive k-tec charge around £250 odd quid? and around £600 for the manifold and link pipe!) i got my manifold much much cheaper than that ;)

    deffo superior for midrange torque which imo is where the biggest gain is needed, possibility of a loss in top end power but should be ok
