i prefer just to take the exhaust off at the manifold, sounds much better and its free, infact sell the exhaust and you make money, should try it some time, not lol
laguna 2.0 one fits straight on as you said mate, same part just bigger intake bit, wont get full benefits untill a remap but should still make a difference!
oil and coolant arnt mixing so thats cool, rocker cover gasket is deffo leaking oil its all over the back of it but ill have another good look tomorrow, changed oil last month and its drank it all in 5k miles
ill pm you for that guide the now!
Got a video of mine doing 0-62mph in around 10.5 seconds, 14" steelys are exact same rolling radius as a 15" with 185/55 tyres, mine has 195/50 which is even smaller, but to be honest you wont notice a difference at all
so id say there would be nothing in it between mine and a good 1.6 escort...
thats the kit im getting on my car dont sl@g it ya knob!!!
na only kiddin lol aye Clio Super 1600 rally car replica kit
any good at fitting gearboxes mr gibson?
i wouldnt call it low ratio, its about average for its type of car really. could be doing with a lower ratio 4th and 5th but suppose its to save fuel etc its not a performance car lol
anyone done a rocker cover and/or head gasket on a 1.2 16v?
my rocker cover gaskets gone and needing done and thought i might as well do the head gasket while im at it since its on 130k and leaking both oil and coolant somewhere!
how hard/easy are both, if the head gaskets pretty hard ill...
you should be able to put a ph2 mount on it? my 1.2 16v never had the twisted mount, but i got a mk2 172 mount and it fits straight on, well did untill i hit a bump in the ground on a farm road and caught the mount and ripped it clean out teh gearbox, nasty
hi, do the police have the power to look up what mods are declaired on someones insurance, and if so what happens if they find out you have a mod that isnt declaired? does this apply to all mods, engine conversions?
basically trying to find out what would happen if you were pulled with an...
my tool kit isnt the best but probably up to the job, my mate had the box split from the engine when doing my clutch so he can always help too if i get stuck!
next job is the rocker cover gasket, anyone know how easy or hard these are to do on the 1.2 16v engine?
Andy your free to help if i go down the conversion route mate! more help the better
172 is out the question tho cheapest quote i can get fora 172 is £5,500 in my own name and i assume a kit car based on this engine wouldnt be any cheaper?
K4M isnt great but if im replacing the engine i fancy...
average......
lol na mate sounds awesome when u taking me a spin? need to get one for SL02 when it returns to the road in a couple of months, cant wait
seriously doubt it, ive got 2 mates with 1.6 escorts (well sorry 1.6 injection escorts, for some reason they always add the injection bit when talking about their cars lol) and my 1.2 16v starts to pull on both of them, and thats before we touch the corners.
im not saying a 1.4 16v clio is...
apparently they are all different, BUT all aftermarket exhausts are the same for all of them so i think cat back standard 1.6 16v exhaust will fit a 1,2 16v but not 100% on it
need to read up on engine conversion insurance because i really dont want a new car, looked all over the place and theres none that appeal to me, for the £6,000 im going to spend on a new car i could build and insure a monster of a 1.6 16v conversion
ive got a haynes manual for it
aye 1 end bolts to car other end bolts to box, the bolt onto teh car is fine its solid its the 1 onto the box thats fuked mate said with a lot of hastle we could probably sort it but likely it needs a new box and probably worth it since its crunching into 3rd a...
yep worth a try but sounds like a syncro, think my 3rd gear 1 is on its way out.
syncro matches the speed when changing to eliminate the need for double clutching as far as im aware which would explain why it doesnt do it when you match the revs
Halfords have one branded as Ripspeed but apparently they are rebadged Pioneers without the removable face, heard a couple of mates talking about wanting one but yet to have a playwith one so no sure if its any good but may be worth checking out
hope this helps
17s look to big on a clio in my opinion especially a mk1.
17s will give you a big hit on performance and it will handle like shite but if you dont care about this then yes it'll look bling
you say a standard rt tho, so i assume its not lowered? if not lower it first or it will look very VERY...
