Slight leak head gasket! Advice please guys!

I’d take it for a second opinion. Preferably To someone who knows these cars properly. The ‘mechanic’ you’ve taken it to sounds like a tyre fitter are Kwik Fit. Where are you based?

    2001 Clio RSI 1.6

No way!! I sold that car when it was brand new!! 😂 it was a shared car between mother and daughter. They lived in Downend, round the corner from me. I have a massive soft spot for RSi’s. I actually think that point to point around town etc, they are quicker than a 172.

AR1’s literally pulled out old Abarth 500 track car apart. So much grip and sticky-ness that after every Hot track day, something was broken. Back in the NS2R’s or a wet track day on Uniroyals and it was reliable as ever. 😂

I had them on mine (I get NS2R’s for £20 each, not to) but I just couldn’t cope with the road noise on my commute. The tyre drone is louder than the radio! I’ve now opted for a second set of wheels with Uniroyal Rainsport 5’s as my daily tyres and leave the NS2R’s for track. Both sets of tyres...

I’m valeting for a local garage at the minute to earn some dollar whilst off work. How you lot do this for pleasure is beyond me. I’m 3 cars in and ready to put my head in the microwave to cool down/end it all.

    Anyone had Bimarco Bucket seats?

Mate they’re mega cheap. My Suzuka was £460. I can buy two Bimarco’s for that and have nearly enough change for a track day.

    Anyone had Bimarco Bucket seats?

Thanks. I had a look on their site the other day but it’s about as user friendly as a Rottweiler with a bee up its ass. Thanks though, been a great help. 👍

    Anyone had Bimarco Bucket seats?

Perfect. Daft question alert, when you bought them, was there only one size?? Or did you have a choice. I’ve looked at two different sellers and neither of them offer a choice in size.

Did all Clio Williams 3 come with a sunroof ?

I had a W3 that had an electric sunroof and I’m confident they all did. It was the W1 that didn’t come with one. for a total definitive answer, probably best asking on the Williams Facebook page. Most people on here weren’t even born when the Williams was launched! 😂

    Trying to save a £300 172 cup

I bought a £1500 cup about 2 years ago. Not too dissimilar condition. I’ve spent £2k on it so far and all that’s left to do now is a front end respray. And that doesn’t include the parts I had already waiting in the garage. Will owe me £4K once finished. They’re not cheap to do! But I will...

    M11 GTT

My one was rotten. And the previous owner had paid good money to have it all repaired but they’d just filed it all with mastic and filler and painted it. It looked mint from the outside! But I was t in a position to fit new inert and outer sills etc and it wasn’t a ‘special’ car, just a...

182 Inlet Manifold Gasket - Sealant?

No idea mate, I just do them up finger tight then 1/2 a turn with a ratchet. If you start the car up and it idles at 4,000 rpm, you’ve got a leak! And don’t forget to make sure you don’t crush the plug leads. That’s another favourite.

182 Inlet Manifold Gasket - Sealant?

The last two Clio’s I‘ve bought, some absolute pellet has done this and rammed some wanky random bolt in there ruining the threads. It’s infuriating. It’s the simplest of tasks to remove and refit one of these bolts but the ham fisted “diy mechanics” can’t seem to grasp it.

Back after a while <----- long time 172 owner, using lockdown to get car back on the road!

That is all fixable and if you do it yourself, will cost you peanuts. I’d advise you to buy either a scrap car or some scrap panels and practice your welding. Do plenty of reading. Then go for it.
