thats fair enough - im only 20 and to insure a 182 id need to fork out 2800 quid!
I can understand you wanting to make it look like a 172 which is okay to a point as long as you dont stick on 2.0 16v badges - waste of time and money
theres nothing wrong with modding a 1.2 all i was saying is whats the point in putting 2.0 16v badges on it - waste of time. And of course putting a 17 year old behind the wheel of a 182 would be a bad thing!
no - im not sure about the wheels myself! lol i got em cos my mate works for renault and they were much cheaper than any other 16"'s i saw and liked but im not gonnas stick replica 182 body bits on it - i think the odd things to make cars look better is okay just the real stupid things is making...
okay i fucked up my words a bit - i meant making a car that has a smaller engine into a replica of a car with a bigger engine for example sticking on wheels and bumpers to a 1.2 to look like a 2.0 clio or whatever - i personally dont see the point but then everyones got their own opinion im not...
my mate works at Anglian Car Audio i Dereham Norfolk and they stock and fit toad alarms - they are the mutts nutts and if your from the norfolk area i reckon they would give you a good deal price as well...
well ive been told that ktr stuff is brilliant - designed by renault users for reanault users. I got some Ultimate springs off the k-tec website (35mm) and have had no probs whatsoever and they only cost me 65 quid plus VAT - so i say go for it they sound a bargain
Matt ive only just read this thread but i think your car sounds insane and absolutely brilliant - are you taking it to FCS 2006?
Plus i reckon you'll beat the R5 but it might be close - very serious race this could be...
i had a really modded up peugeot come roaring up next to me at some traffic lights near the A47 in Norfolk (massive bodykit side exhaust big enough fo my head etc etc) - i fort s**t ive only got a 1.6 16v with no engine mods then as we both pulled away i kept pulling and he was struggling to...
I reckon insurance is the biggest con around - Bell are t***s anyways - the quote they gave me for my standard 1.6 16v dynamique was more than NU quoted with my mods (wheels + suspension)!!
Ive had uprated components in my clio for a couple of months now - Blaupunkt blue ones - great range of sound - very crisp and clear and we had no problems whatsoever fitting em.
I'd like to point out (after reading the earlier posts) that i think it is silly making a smaller engined car look like a faster one i.e. 1.4 into an RS. Okay my car on page three of this thread has 182 wheels but thats only cos i personally love the style and got em really cheap - im not gonna...
any suggestions? as im a bit new to all this...
wouldnt mind a K-Tec stainless steel upper grill but would it go with black car? hmm...
just going back on topic Gengar what make of springs ya got - ive got ultimate ones from ktec website and their mint
LOL!! Well you can prob guess yellow "ariel" is a power cable and the splitter (an actual Renault part) was on the car when i boght it 10 months and to be honest i dont think its that bad!!
Hi - I lowered my 1.6 16v Ph 2 a couple of weeks ago 35mm on Clio Sport 16" Anthractie wheels and found the ride to be fine not really hard at all and no scrubbing ebven when going over bumps.
This is what mine looks like now:
I'd say 16's would be your best bet - 17's are slightly too big (well they are where i live cos the roads are crap!) plus with 16's your still gonna be able to get good acceleration - 17's are better on clio 2.0 16v's
if youve got concerns about the gearbox just email K-tec, proabbly the best renault specialist in this country and ask how they uprated their show car - ive always found em helpful and their advice is spot on
