also keep in mind the "aux" belt on the 1.2 16v is just a wee tiny thing that goes to the alternator (never done one with AC right enough if that applys to you) they have no tensioner etc so cost about 40p to replace lol
1.2 16v? yes, belts i cant remember from the top of my head but cant see them being any more than £40 for the kit non genuine, and a genuine pump last time i checked was around £60 be cheaper going non genuine however ive never used a non genuine pump so dunno if they are worth it or not...
do the conversion, i was going to, shat out, regret it to this day even tho i ended up with a minter. any questions on the conversion give me a shout on msn
you MUST replace the waterpump on the 1.2 16v engine when the belts get done, they WILL be already or about to start leaking, and will 100% NOT make it till the next cambelt is due so id get it done for the sake of an extra £50 or so belt and waterpump at an independant garage, i wouldnt be...
dont get me wrong my mrs 1.6 16v dynamique MK2 is awesome to drive, it feels so much better to drive around town than a 172 which is lumpy, and you dont get the lag around town that you get on the dci100.
side by side there is nothing in it between the dci100 and the 1.6 16v, the 1.6 gets a...
my dci is going in for an RS Tuning remap, 130bhp & 190lb/ft, more if i can get an uprated clutch.
that will make it a VERY capable car considering £35 a year roadtax, £300 a year insurance fully comp and 55mpg!
if its a 1.4 16v your using id look to use the bottom end from a 1.6 16v for the extra torque (im assuming the top end is the same although you would need to double check that) have some headwork done while you have it in bits, wilder cams, nice exhaust manifold and filter setup should see...
feels good to use not going to make your gearchange any quicker though as you can already rush the box too much on the standard gearstick if you dont watch what ur doing with it ull destroy the syncros
if i could go back and start again id just have left mine standard bar 182 manifold and decat. its the best mod you can do, its alright people who have never fitted one saying "only 10bhp at most" i gained 20lb/ft mid range with 182 manifold decat exhaust and inlets and most of that is down to...
when buying my girlfriends 1.6 16v mk2 clio i told the salesman it needs new rear disks.
he tells me it doesnt as its just been thru the workshop for a safety check that picks up these things and if they are legal then they arnt changing them. i said no im not saying i think it needs rear...
