ive made dash inserts and rear bumper strip from real carbon fibre, and used the real carbon sheet to create a few front badges. its not hard, just time consuming.
i would never recommend trying to cover the roof or anything like that without a proper vacuum former. if your serious about...
I'd get a ph1 172 tbh, not that i'm biased or anything but they're much rarer and really dont feel like an 'old' car. engines are pretty much bombproof on em as well and you get little things like cable throttle, better airbox etc, basically better for carrying engine mods.
just out of...
alot lighter, annoyingly not as light as my alloy one though :(. Defo thumbs up on the bonnet, not sure on the boot though
hmmmm me thinks a carbon roof is also needed... wheres that credit card lol
3k? you'll also need to buy a good set of coilovers to make the car handle anywhere near as well as a 172. Your hung up on this 'i wanna be unique thing' but i dont see why u cant just buy a ph 1 172, and then make that unique, for the same money and incovenience as an engine conversion you...

one of many people with problems!
if you wanna know if its worth it pm adamhodg and i'm sure he'll put u straight. seriously the problems u encounter are ridiculous. Cheaper to just buy a 172 and then turbo it, will still be unique
i think most of the people on here who have done engine conversions will discourage you from attempting one, they're just so damn expensive and difficult. Best to just get the 172 in the first place
not worth doing it yourself, if you've not practised on something else before hand it will look bumpy and a mess.
They should fully prep the surface by fully sanding the strips till they're smooth (might be best doing this yourself to save some cash) then they should use highbuild primer...
everything looks spot on, defo one of my favs on here! how u finding the wheel? when i fitted my momo i found it really difficult to drive with as its so small comapred to standard
Right then, i'm pretty certain i'm not gonna get a replacement alloy bonnet on my 172, so i'm gonna get a carbon one. Just wondering whether to bother getting it sprayed or not so need a photoshop to decide? Also I know somewhere i can get a carbon boot with integrated cup spoiler, a photoshop...
