^^ good going ! great info, as i have done my OEM ones wrong after reading this. Got a dogbone set on its way now and will be putting on some stiff top ones on when i can afford them.
I got a call today from where i ordered the Powerflex bushes. Powerflex seemed to have burned down...
amazing stuff, like that :approve:
My car is like un concontrollable bullet shot off in first gear, i hate that on this car. Way too short and hard to keep traction.
I've been reading up and it seems the grippers are chosen by the harcore hill-climb racers, gravel race, etc. and the Quaife is more the tarmac neccescary diff, road and track.
^^ this gripper , what's the difference with the Quaife ? The quaife one for the Renault RS is the most expensive one they sell !! It wo'nt break though, lifetime warranty on that little toy
I've heard about the gripper before, pro's and cons ? :)
it's a first for them too mate, they are watching/waiting on reactions to learn from these i'm thinking ;)
i'm also guessing the engine will be hard to get "neutral" with all the mounts loosened (because of all the weight) , this is why i questioned ?
They look in the computer , and it tells them which toe to do, in or out. They get it wrong , way too often  Too much toe out will make your car "search" , going left to right, however bad the road is you're driving on.
I found , after going back again + again, telling them to do neutral...
^^ great !
Is this (rock the engine so it all sits..) when the jack is still supporting the engine, or do you mean rocking the engine with jack removed ?
^^ hmmm i will want to know this too.
Tom , help us out on correct fitting prety pleeeeease ? I can imagine an engine-neutral sitting spot when actually tightening the mounts up, or do i sound very nutty now ?
you can cut a bit off of your induction elbow, only a centimeter or so, makes it a les tight fit.
You cannot route a coldairfeed down, (too little space) so just make a short one pointing toward headlight
that''s it
Look for a Renault 25 v6 airbox, or else Espace V6 before 1998. Best...
Ahhhh you just listen to Alper; it's not like he's trying to sell you anything :D
I think Superchip will not cure the idle problem (mine had idle-trouble when the C&B's came in) .
Henk cured it, (easily);) + I do'nt know if a superchip will raise/better idle ?
You should try to speak to En035 on here , Alper is his name, He is from Izmir !
He has got the Clio 172 with these camshafts and it is running very nicely + making good power ! But it is all about good mapping, i think your Superchip could do better.
These cams are a very good choice for the RS
as said; worn mounts (especially dogbone) can cause the engine to "tilt"+lean and therefore also affecting gear selector . Enginemovement needs to be within limits
I had one "Puff" diddy ;) Are you from Germany btw ? Because of the Puff ;) ?
Anyway i had the 250pounds Simota Aeroform and it was realllllly bad for power.
But i am convinced when a car is CUSTOM-mapped to suit one of these it would bring power. On the OEM map + other tuning maps going...
^^ what car Andrew ? It fits in any case, it's TIGHT but fits. Cutting off the edge of the induction-elbow will help a lot to wedge it in.. Do'nt have the car around, sorry i can't give you the dimensions
the Mark Fish ones seem to be the best, nice if you've got enough $$$ to spend !
On my want list anyway. I'm getting my first "knocking" from the front end on full lock so i'm guessing my oem ones have had their best days.
Fiesta? S-iesta ! that's what they do from 12 to 2 in Mexico ;). Are you drunk Gaz? The car's a 182 !
with the vid he's proving his 172 is slower than a 182 Cup
tiny hijack here :o
fitting bodies like these on a 172 ph2 means changing the pedalbox (whole throttle setup?) does'nt it ?
And a different engine-management ?
I'm glad to hear the AT bodies are getting some good results. I read about these a while back when they first came around the...
