just as much hastle to put a 1.4 16v as it is to put a 2.0 16v.
it will need engine, ecu, uch, keys, decoder ring, then will need ECU coded to the car too afaik

1.2 box will fit yes, as will 1.6 16v (same as DCi65) and...
taking bump stops out wont do anything but f**k your dampers as they act as dust covers to stop dirt n s**t getting in and plus the dampers go lower than they should causing them to bottom out and bursting the seals
drill out, not really needed anyway the wheel bolts hold them on, when you replace them dont put them in to tight and they wont be so hard to come out next time lol (you can get away with this because of the above reason)
since fitting the matched inlets its had a standard exhaust system on it bar the 182 manifold and decat, got it out lastnight with the 2.5" k-tec stealth and holy s**t does it pull hard now, the pull at 5k is mental now engine/exhaust note changes and it flys!!!!
goes in tomorrow for the rear...

if your spending the money on it do it properly and go all out and do something no ones done before, forged internals etc and...
1.2s are terrible on fuel, i get more miles to a tank in my 172 than i did in my 1.2 lol and its easy to drive the 172 like a granny, 1.2s are f**king awful driving like a granny you wont get anywhere!
im insuring my 172 at 19 with 2yrs ncb for £800 so surely it wont cost you that much!
its been a while since i last worked on 1, it LOOKS the same ie with flexy pipe etc if its a <2004 car with the flexi but if its a 2004> car it will have the springs and studs like foxys if you look at his pic
