Did you find an answer to this? I've changed mine today, and currently my replacement is wedged behind the dash as I couldn't get my old one out, really didn't want to start taking the dashboard apart!

The older JDM model was. These shat money when they came out, but a cracking 2nd hand buy. They're an NA flat 6 iirc, with a decent exhaust they almost sound porker-esque. For a 'barge' they can hustle themselves around nicely.

Twist the belt. You should be able to turn it roughly 90 degrees. That's about the right tension for mine to stop squeaking on start up.
