FLOL. Really??!
What a piss-take. I did notice on the EVGA site that the FTW 1080 is the only one listed with two BIOSs. I wonder if one is reserved as a factory-default setting and the other BIOS there for people to tweak and mess with, until it bombs out?
Chrome - as much as I dislike showering even more praise on the Google juggernaut. Closely followed by Firefox.
IE is archaic and Edge? Well, I'm scratching my head to see any real merits for Edge at all.
Sounds good!
I would have said going CAT6 in your house is OTT. But given it carries only a reasonable premium over CAT5 and bandwidth use will continue to rise - it makes sense. Who wants to re-wire their home in 5 years time because they saved a few ££ when fitting the cabling initially...
In all fairness - they aren't worth it. You're paying a considerable chunk of money to have performance minimised - but even that's a loosely applied term. Additional cooling, decent batteries, larger power packs - the list goes on. Buy a top-flight new one and they shed money quicker than...
That's some commitment - lol!
All I will say in going back to Warframe - is that you'll need a little time to settle with it. I doubt anyone would try it for an hour and think 'this is pretty good' - I know I certainly didn't. It is worth sticking at it - in my mind anyway.
Did it turn up? @Cookie
I got annoyed yesterday when for the full day, the order status was changed to 'stock due today'. I lost track of how many times I pressed F5 to refresh my email and stock status.
With no update at all yesterday - even the sales staff on the phone couldn't confirm...
Purely on acoustics, the neighbour upstairs has an S5 parked below our window. Not sure if the exhaust is aftermarket, but it makes a great noise. Subtle, but loud and deep. Compare that to the other V8 Jag in the car park that is just loud and actually sounds a bit chavvy
The best thing about that is the effortless engine. The rest of what surrounds it is the let-down.
If I sat at 80mph on the motorway, every day of my working life - I'd probably agree. Anything resembling an A-road, B-road, or a modicum of a bend - give me the 182 instead. I'm assuming the...
I normally bypass stuff like this - World of Tanks did little for me (unfortunately). However, it has tanks in this - which is winning - and the fact that Obsidian Entertainment are behind it. Hopefully it might actually be alright?
It is annoying. If the card was likely to be delivered in August - bloody well say it. Don't fook about making dates up well beforehand.
A delivery date far off in the distance, I can cope with. A rolling ETA just annoys the piss out of me. I can't see it being a repeat of the BT fibre farce...
Just so we're not barking up the wrong tree - is your Windows 10 machine connected directly to the router and not through a powerline adapter?
If so, can you still 'see' that Sony or Vodafone device when you unplug the powerline adapters?
Do you live in an apartment block or communal living...
Hi Ads,
Yep - there's definitely a different number of washers per bolt - well, on the two centre ones anyway. I remember when I removed the assembly first, thinking "I'd best remember how many were on each". Hindsight, eh?!
I know what you mean about the lug. Almost like it doesn't line up to...
Definitely just wired? The recent trend is to remove any signs of antennae and have the aerials hidden inside the unit themselves - much like they do with laptops. I'd certainly be checking the make and model number first.
If they are wireless - it could be the cause. Do you know what make & model they are? If purely wired, it would be highly unlikely that a phone would be able to connect.
It's worth the effort to setup your powerline adapters properly - even just the pure wired ones. Give them easy-to-identify...
Chaps,
On the three bolts that connect the wiper mechanism to the chassis (two in the centre and one off to the right) - does anyone know how many washers each bolt uses?
When I've re-greased mine, I think I've put the wrong number on each - making it a bit hit and miss on the sweeping motion...
This is where yet again, I vouch for Warframe. The number of game styles and variations on existing modes is very impressive. Couple that with the HUGE scope of mods and Warframes available - and it just makes The Division look like a ten-minute wonder.
I passed the 400 hours mark on Warframe...
Crashes badly in 64-bit mode launcher - a weird message about Fatal Disk Error which appears to be a capture-all error.
Launch it in 32-bit and all is fine. Looks really good, though the handling (keyboard especially) is a little ropey. Still good though - I just wish they would finish it and...
@Toypop - I share your beliefs and your pain. From the days of trying out SLi with two 7900GTX cards, to my current quad-SLi setup - I get so frustrated about how close, yet so far the whole multi-GPU arena has faired.
Even back in 2010, it was possible to buy mobos with PCIe slots to...
Mine was the Nokia 8110 - which I got two weeks before The Matrix was released. Blissfully unaware of the film, I had sales guys in the office offering me £400 cash for the phone - lol.
Strange. I'm on my 2nd set of Sportlines all-round - the previous ones fitted around 6 years ago. I've had every confidence in the rear with them on.
As you say that there is such a difference between those and the stock items, I'd say something is amiss.
A tip off one of my rear Sportlines...
Main reason I order from them is that I can walk into the store and pick things up. It's literally a small detour for me on the way home and has the bonus of a cracking driving road over the tops, past Rivington.
However, despite my email alert informing me that Friday the 17th is the ETA for...
Draw distance = 2ft. Pitch black, bar one-candle power and an in-built Shovel Simulator. Sounds awesome. ;)
That said, I know what you mean. Better - would be having a round against the clock where the attackers fight to obtain scraps of intelligence. When 3 or 4 parts are located, they combine...
Not strictly a mobile game, but one I play on tablet a fair bit at the moment is Sky Force Reloaded. Also Talisman - which is brilliant on a tablet.
Others are Plague Inc. and the Kingdom Rush games.
