I got a uprated clutch from K-Tec for around 130 quid then had it fitted at a local garage for 240 pounds. Others I have seen have had a clutch fitted for less than 200 pounds, this is on a Williams so I cant see yours costing 600-800 quid!:o
Only get understeer if Im trying to get power down in 2nd on tight corners, more of a wheel spin out of a corner which can cause the front to go a bit wide. I think it takes a very good driver to find the handling limits of a Williams I know Ive come close a couple of times, not on purpose...
Most of the time I drive on fast/sweeping A & B roads and the suspension Im running at the moment is VERY good, I have embarassed everyone whos had a go inc a 330ci. On bumpy / poor surfaces the car is obviously a lot less settled, this is because of the hard setting though. I could soften it...
I have recently been thinking of getting a Cup when my Williams becomes too expensive to maintain. I spend quite a lot on replacing seized/rusting brake/suspension parts and the car itself had quite a few small patches of rust. To sort this I think a full strip and respray would be required and...
There will be quite a lot of threads on this if you do a search but I believe most people go for: R Sport ECU, Enclosed induction kit and stainless exhaust w/de-cat this alone will get the cup to low 14 sec quarter miles for around 700 pounds.
Saw my first 182 today when I was down at Blackpool Renault garage. Look better in the metal than on a page and I like the anthracite wheels too. Not too sure about the stripes though, I know its got racing heritage but it still looks a bit too stick on, like sunstrips and tailpipe trims.
Im gonna need new tyres very soon and Im either going for 4 of these beasts or I have been tempted by some cut slicks recently Avon I think, summer is on the way after all!
Stromba not only have I changed the tyres but suspension, exhaust, filter and interior. Have I committed a henious crime against Williams law? Chill out, not everyone wants the same as you!
PS Do you think Ill get 18s on the Williams?
;)
Im running 195/50s on my Williams now and I find that they are better than the 185/55s that were on the car when I got it. This may be down to the fact the 185s were a no-name brand though. Unless your obsessive about keeping your willy standard I would go for 195s if only for the cheaper price...
Cool ,I just put my buckets in yesterday, seating position is better .Quite a lot lower feels like your sitting in the car rather than ON it. Just waiting for harness to come in now.
Hmmm, you dont have to get a cage just dont crash! Also remember if you get a Williams you are not ALLOWED to modify it in any way as it is perfection on Michelin Pilots.
Finally got my new Monacos in yesterday, had problems with subframes. The ones I got didnt fit as they were for ph1 clios which dont fit the later ph2s with height adj seats. The company I got the seats and subframes didnt have a clue and I ended up getting ph1 runners from the scrappy to fit...
Any one know how much a decent roll cage will weight? I have been looking at a Safety Devices cage rather than a show cage. Dont really want to strip all the weight out then put a 50kg cage in.
Thanks
Get your wallet out stromba! Fiver isnt going to break the bank is it? If you had bought some Toyos or Goodyears instead of Michelin Pilots;) you would have had plenty of change to join Cliosport and RSC!
No one really wants to hear it but engine swaps are much better way of gaining extra power than tuning a low capacity engine. That or buy a faster car in the first place.IMO
